I have read the Bible and part of Koran and most people, even those who claim to believe in them and obey them, don't have a clue what's actually in them.
According to the Bible God is a jealous God of war... literally. People think Jesus is about peace, not true... according to the word of God anyway...

15:3 The LORD is a man of war: the LORD is his name.
Christianity, as well as Islam, is not about peace, it's about satisfying Gods will WITHOUT question. The Bible COMMANDS Christians to believe and obey each and every word without question, according to Christianity the Bible is the word of God so why would any Christian not take it literally or obey every command, disobeying a command is disobeying the direct command of God, hence this person is not a Christian. For instance, you can't be a Muslim and smoke, not a true Muslim anyway.
Religion, and particularly religious extremism, is very ignorant. It's impossible for all religions to be right, even ignorant Pastors will agree with that. So even if one is right then there are still billions of people worshipping the wrong thing. What makes those who think theirs is the only and correct belief believe so... sheer ignorance.
I regularly debate with people regarding this, particularly "Christians", they say 'woman and men are equal and should be treated so', not according to the Bible, it states quite clearly in Ephesians that man is the head of the house and superior to the woman. It also states this in other parts of the Bible, I believe there is reference to it in Exodus but I don't have this to memory, but here is the quote from the BIBLE (the word of God)... argue with the word of God or disagree with it and you are no more Christian than fly in the air.
Ephesians
5:22 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.
5:23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.
5:24 Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.
Just to clarify that a Christian must believe every word of the Bible, here it is from God himself:
Matthew 4:4 But he answered and said, It is written,
Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
Deuteronomy 8:3 And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know;
That he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live.
Oh and God may forgive those who don't believe in him because he understands why they don't believe, as some people might have you believe but they havn't done their homework... it's bullshit... look...
Mark 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
No offence to anyone with this post, it's my educated view on it, I think the whole religion thing is ignorance which is why I am an athiest. I educated myself on it because I can't argue against something that I don't understand but most people don't see the true word behind these zealous books that preach the word of God. I would rather not stone my children when I have them in future as commanded by God if they continue to disobey my commands, which children regularly do, no, I would rather spend an eternity in hell without this crime than an eternity in heaven with it. If you need scripture to back this up then I am more than happy to provide.

I don't normally ask this, but can this thread be locked? Religious debates never have a good outcome. The title is "Funpoll", but Xiion's comments are sure to offend many people on a very deep and personal level.
