How often do you play real tennis?

I play nearly every day but as I'm getting older the injuries are coming thick and fast...i've had stress fractures, got to have an op on my knee in the fall etc.

i love the sport

I play as often as I can, which unfortunately isn't very much because I live in a very rural area far away from the Minnesota tennis hub, and I know absolutely nobody within 30 miles of me who can give me a competitive tennis match

My only real tennis is the occasional tournaments and league matches I play with the USTA. But I have to drive about 50 miles for these

In summer I play quite a lot, once or twice a week and sometimes more... apart from that I don't play because I don't have time, the weather is shit and it gets dark too early.

Chris is going to coach me so that I can hit backhands better... which will be cool. I can't serve either but I have a pretty good forehand and can live with most players if they play it to my forehand.

Haha I'm probably just misunderstanding you, but do you mean to say that they don't approve of the aggressive manner in which you play tennis based strictly on moral grounds (maybe Aggressive Tennis Playing is breaking one of the 10 Commandments, haven't looked at those in a while), or your family just doesn't like playing with you because you play too aggressively?

Nah, I do not mean that it is restricted (as if it is a religious thing or family moral principle).

I just go for my shots (kind of like Mirza went for her forehand shots with her match against Kuznetsova). Like you said, I do not like to hold back, because I play worst.

So, I am like in your boat. You have high looping topspin shots that bounces to high above your friend's shoulders. We need better hitting partners. Heh.

My dad is good. So, once he builds up his skills, I know he would be more than a decent hitting partner. So, I think I am saved!

My dad is pretty good too (He played tennis in college), but he can't really move that great at all anymore, he has a really bad knee.

When I am just rallying I usually hit the ball a good 5-10 feet over the net...I imagine it is infuriating.

Clay is rare in this country...

However i have played in the biggest junior clay event in this country atleast. I will be on clay for a whole week in Espana in October.

We have public courts all over the country which you can hire for a small sum of money open to the general public.

I play at 2 Clubs.

Other is just a local club which is still a cool club 3 hard courts. 45 minutes drive brings me to here onto the grass (I practice here in the summer to prepare for some grass junior events.)

I also have a David Lloyd Indoor academy nearby with Carpet which i also practice on a fair bit during the winter.

Because I work so often on business and many other things I don't play tennis NEARLY as often as I want to and will in a few years. I still play every time I get a few hours to myself and it's a reasonably nice day. My hitting partner is obviously Andy (Xiion) and we have had some crazy fun ralleys. Jaylove I am also completely addicted to playing tennis (just addicted to making money more :lol:

) but it's funny things like if I am going on holiday the hotel HAS to have a high quality lit tennis court. :lol:

I really should join a club more permanently and play more tournaments but I don't have time just yet in life. Maybe one day we will all meet up and have a real ITST tournament! :lol:

Would be awesome.

I have to say though Jay, the voting options are a bit ****. :lol:

I put once a month as that's probably accurate, although sometimes I might play for 5 or 6 hours a day, every day for a few weeks. Big jump though from twice a week to once a month. :lol:
