A word from Al - is this the way to go?!

Postby Safi n/aBANNED » Tue, 13 Mar 2007 17:43

As you all know...i have certain problems when playing with one dude from Argentina (this guys obviously dont like me...)
He play 5 or 6 times risk and drop shots in SIM game so in one point of time in the beggining of 3rd set when he did it again (this is very important because he lied about that, saying that he lead 2:0 in third set which is NOT thrue!) i just pissed off, lost my mind and break the game...
Next day tournament host decided we must repeat this 3rd set, we did it and i won it 6:1...
Today, the day after we finish this match i get this PM from Al himself.

I am wondering if you guys can tell me who the hell is crazy here, and why one cheater will be awarded for what he did?
I swear to anything i have in my life i tell the truth :!:
I really forget what was bean before when i have nick Tomi, i just want to play ITST like anyone else, and in this spirit i don't understand why is so much prejudices on me again and again...

PM from Al;

I'm writing to advise you that the replayed result in your match vs jmdelpetro will not stand. The original score of the first match is the only valid one & it is your opponent who will be awarded the win.

I have been keeping track of the situation following your match against jmdelpetro & you have broken a couple of rules in this match.

You first of all quit at 3-6 6-4 0-2. If you quit a match then you forfeit it unless you've agreed differently with your opponent before the match, which you didn't. If the lag was so great as you have stated why didn't you quit at the beginning??? Why wait till the 3rd set which you were losing??? That doesn't make sense!
You claimed illegal shots were played.....again why wait till the this time to quit for that reason???
You then submitted a result stating jmdelpetro retired. He did not! You did!

You did not even approach the host afterwards? Something else that just doesn't make sense.

The rules are clear. Do not quit a match because of lag. Wait till the end of the match & advise the host. That aside, no one quits a match because of lag at that stage of a match...no one, unless they think they're going to lose!I believe this was the position for you.

So to sum up you have quit during a 3rd set that you were losing claiming lag & illegal shots, something no one would do unless they're losing & you submitted an incorrect result.

For those reasons I am overruling the hosts decision & I am not going to accept the replayed result.

I don't know if you think we're stupid or something but we're not.....I heavily suspect that when you realised you might lose, you quit & decided to claim lag & illegal shots & as you considered your opponent to be a noob he wouldn't say anything. But you were wrong & he did!

Our rules are there for a reason & you cannot pick & choose when you want to follow them. You are already on the edge as far as staying a member here & you're one step away from being permanently banned.....I advise you to tread very carefully.

You won't be warned again!

One more thing...i made a poll question...if you guys can`t stand me anymore here on ITST i will retire and never open this web page again. I must act like this because i know what true really is in this case, i just want to play online tennis, play fer and this injustice deeply harmed me.

The particulars of your situation are not relevant. It appears that you are trying to detract from the facts. Those being ...

You quit a match that you were losing - and then posted a false result. That alone is reason for disqualification.

As you (should) know, the posting of a false result is a very serious offense. All things considered, you are lucky that Al didn't ban you for a second time.

If you did in fact have problems with the connection - or with the tactics of your opponent - you should have stated so after the match - contacting both the host and your opponent. Once you posted the false result, all bets were off. The matter changed entirely.

In closing, if your intention is to "just play online tennis," as your purport, I find it odd that you continually behave in ways counterproductive to both the ITST and your status as a member.

You are wrong Neanderpaul!
I did not report falsh result! I break up game when result was just like i reported - 6:3,4:6, and i was serving in first game of 3rd set!
If this is main reason for such act against me, why dont you let us play whole match again...i am sure i could teach him a lesson like i did yesterday when we played 3rd set all over again (6:1) like tournament host decided in the first place...as long as he play fer play, of course....

Maybe you don't realise but PM stands for PRIVATE message! So shouting about this to everyone really doesn't do your cause any good at all!

It's not up to everyone else whether you stay or not....if you play by the rules & earn yourself some respect then generally you'll have few problems. If you can't then you end up with a poor rep & undoubtedly end up getting banned......

All I know is that for someone who has supposedly changed their ways, your name keeps cropping up! That's not coincidence!

What I'm saying is, whether you stay or go isn't up to others, it's up to you! It's within your control to stay or not. Just play the game properly & by our rules in our matches & you'll have a much more enjoyable experience here.

I supported in your come back too. And we always have good and fair matches when we play at GS. And you are a very good player so I don't understand why do you do, if you do, what it's being said here (leave match etc). But about the case of Challengers yes, I think you shouldn't play mate, it's not fair for the other players. As the others I think you should stay in ITST as far as you respect the rules.

And more, I have played many matches really a lot of matches I can assure you and I swear you, I never lost a match against an argentinian guy due to lag. If I lost it was because my opponent played better than me I said this already on other post. And if you always leave a match when you start loosing, be it agaisnt an argentinian due to lag or because your opponent is better than you you will always be on a first match level. I mean, you can't never get on a full level of concentration on a match because when you face problems you leave. What do I want with this? I want you to see that if you keep playing on the match you will get experience and that will make you stronger for other matches or even for that one. Imagine, you are broken. If you are broken don't leave. Stay on the match and try to re-break your opponent. Try to re-break, try to win your service game and try to break him again and win the match. You will see that everytime you face problems if you keep playing you will get evern and ever more experience on these situations and you will become a very good player. You have talent (at least on SIM, don't know about hte others) so don't waste it, use it and improve it by doing keep playing. Soon or later you will have the benefits of those matches, some you won some you lost. And what applies to when you are broken, aplies too to when you are facing lag. Even if you weren't broken yet but you want to leave because the match is being boring, stay and you will see that you will gain more and more experience by playing with lag. And on the future you will on some times barely notice the lag. It almost seems it isn't there because you are already so much used to it. I hope this helps.
