TENNIS WORLD TOUR 2019 (Say What?!?)

Arguably the worst tennis video game in the history of tennis video games, Tennis World Tour is ignoring the advice of tennis gamers ("you suck," "refund my money," "I hope everyone who works for BIGBEN gets cancer and dies") and will return in 2019.

After disappearing for a spell, BIGBEN has recently released a number of patches. Their two most recent patches 1.09 and 1.10 reportedly fixed a lot of the game's long term issues. The 1.10 patch was then followed by this announcement: "Roland-Garros eSeries Returns to French Open for Tennis World Tour Tournament."

Not sure if the original game will continue to get patched - or a new version of the game will be released in May. Either way, it's good/hopeful news.

Personally, considering how bad the original game "was" - and some would argue "still is" - I'm not holding my breath, but hey, you never know.

Looks like there will be a new game - not just another series of patches for the 2018 edition.

"In this second edition of the (eSeries) tournament, the participants will play each other on a pre-release version of the latest Tennis World Tour - Roland-Garros Edition video game, which is due to be released on 16th May on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC. It is a unique opportunity to discover the game’s new features, in particular the newly-renovated Philippe Chatrier court, centre court at Roland Garros."

We shall see.

This game could have had it all. Even a bloody updated TS4 or even TS3 with better graphics and bug fixes would sell like hot cakes. We're coming to the end of the most marketable era in tennis for a long time (Fed Djoko and Nadal reaching the end, Murray maybe already rip) so if we can't get a good game now we never will.
