It’s an idea that has been tossed around for years, but never implemented. Imagine not just a traditional draw, but the character you use for any given tournament would be “drawn” also. There are pros and cons ofc. Well, only ONE con really: You don’t pick your character. Pros: No multiples of same char in any tourney. 32 user, 32 chars, every time. Also, forces everyone to adapt to new chars constantly, which will do some significant leveling of the competition.
Imagine facing an opponent that usually just edges your Nishikori with his Federer. This time you face his Andujar with your Wawrinka. Different match. Of course, it cuts both ways. Maybe u face his Fed with your Kubot and he smokes you. But therein lies the beauty. This would produce some very interesting scorelines in many matches.
Please vote and share your feelings. If there is enough support, perhaps it could become a reality.
Keep in mind, by voting “yes”above, you aren’t saying you necessarily support a full conversion to this across entire tour. Rather, that u like the idea and would like to see at least, an occasional “Character Draw” tournamant.
