Nadal out in 4 loss to Brown...

Retirement? He really needs to think about a different coach Uncle Tony whispering the same game plan in his ear just ain't cutting it. Probably should see a sports shrink as well I think its more mental than physical at this point.

A change of coach will be beneficial, even if he gets a Co-coach with uncle for some new ideas. Rise of the super coach.... Agassi?

Brown played brilliant. Great serve and volley tennis can still work at Wimbledon especially in the first week when the courts are still green. Brown won 71/99 serve and volley points against a ATG returner. The thing is though next round he might not be able to sustain that level.

Dolgo vs Karlovic 10-10 final set

Nadal loss isn't even a surprise anymore.

I hope he can. You seen his quarter? Ward, Pospisil, Troicki and Brown. That is one open, open quarter.

Also, If Britain ever wanted 2 players in the QFs at Wimby, now would be the chance. Shame they'd have to play each other though.

True! Ward on his day could get through. I think Troicki is the favourite to get through to the QF though. He has done well to rebuild his career after suspension. But I'd like brown to play for a few more matches, very entertaining and nice to see some SV working!

Djarvik, Does your "Space" button still work? Hahah, Lol xD

Interesting link i posted but i knew Dustin would win because it was on grass wich in most cases can favor the "Serve and Volleyer" and given Nadal's recent form. He has just been playing awful all year. Not sure he will ever reach top form again. He needs a new coach indeed!

a couple of Aussie have tough matches!

We have Sam Groth up against Roger Federer
Bernard Tomic against Novak Djokovic
Nick Kyrios against Milos Raonic.

Lets go Aussies!

But realistically they will all lose there matches, Perhaps Nick can push himself to beat Milos, Not sure.
Vamos Rafa! 9 Time Roland Garros Champion

Groth has the perfect game for grass but his approach shots are often poor. He also comes to the net after many 2nd serves.

You dont need to be so fatalist.
Federer's 2013 and Nadal's 2015 are very similar in a lot of things.

Maybe for Rafa the problem is more "physical" (meaning: he has not major injuries, as he just said after the match, but this is just time passing by, he's not brilliant like 2008, or even 2010, or even last year), but if Roger managed to come back, I don't see why Rafa cant do the same.

The question is pretty simple to me. Nadal's physical "peak" is gone. Period. Legs are slower, so the rest of the game is.
He can recover, get in better shape, but he will probably never be at those levels again.

So what should he do? Shorten the rallies, play closer to the baseline, be more offensive.
But if this is "easier" to do for a player like Roger (he's an offensive player and he needs to be...more offensive), it's something more "invasive" for a player like Nadal, who is been used to a different game style during his whole career.

I mean...I don't think another coach will say different things to him. And he knows that. No doubt.

PS But Nadal has changed so many little things in his game during these years, so I wouldnt be surprised to see him trying new tactic solutions (just as he did in US Open 2013, for instance).

Well we all know that Nadal's game is physically far more demanding than Federer's game. This is very evident when you compare Nadal's injury periods and "time-out" and Federer's. And the Swiss is almost 34 and still ranked #2.

But Nadal's game is also more demanding than Nole's or Murray's game and I would be very surprised to see Nadal playing a full 2017 season. There is of course more than that, loss of confidence and other players improving. On grass his level has dropped back to 2005 levels which is amazing considering he has reached the Wimbledon final 5 times in a row and since then he has had a losing streak against no name players.

I'm getting tired of Nadal saying "It's not the end...life continues'' after EVERY loss." No shit life continues but that's not the point. Enough of the canned answers already. How about expressing some real emotion, I don't know, something along the lines of "I can't believe I'm losing to players I would have beaten in my sleep 2 or 3 years ago, I suck ass!"

Let's not forget that after last year's Wimbledon Rafa has been always injuried. First there was the wrist, then the appendicitis, with surgery and another month without playing or training.
And that was right when you have to start preparing for the next season. So if pre-season is partially compromised, you will need time to find your best shape.

That's why I would like to see what Rafa will do in 2016 after a full winter preparation.
