Nadal Out 1st Round Queens Club!

The downward spiral continues Nadal out against Dolgopolov...We might see a Borg like walk away from the game this year?

I don't think so.
Queen's loss against Dolgopolov was pretty "random", he didnt play a bad match, he just didnt capitalize it.

But Nadal is slowly recovering part of his form.
Yesterday I was sure he could have done a good Wimbledon tournament, but today we know he will be seed n. 10 in the Championships, so I will wait for the draw.

Why was he even playing at Queens? One prep tourny on grass before Wimbledon should be more than enough.

Because he needs to play as much as he can.
Only by playing he can get confidence and form back.

I don't see Nadal improving actually.

Sure Dolgo loss is not that important, but it the game itself.....I look at what he does on the court and I see problems, lots of them. And we going into Grass/Hard court season....

Bad times on horizon for Rafa. It's OK to stay optimistic, lets just not lie to ourselves.
Level 13 Edberg and counting...

How far has Nadal fallen? At this point I think he'd have trouble beating Gulbis.

I don't see Nadal reaching the SF anyway. His 3 recent Wimby results have been abysmal, basically pre-2006 standard, and I am talking about a player who has reached the final 5 times in a row (winning twice) on 5 attendances (he skipped 2009).

Currently being ranked 10th, he might get seeded 8th, which means that he can avoid the top seeds until the QF but his recent results on grass have shown that he can be beaten by almost anyone on that surface. I watched his opener in Stuttgart against Baghdatis and it could have easily been a 6-7 6-7 defeat for him.

Absolutely objective, I'm not even a fan of Nadal.
But compare the way he was playing when clay court season started, and the way he played in Stuttgart.
Ok, it was impossible (for him) to play worse than that, but still.

You can also notice how his attitude just changed. During clay court season he was all like "I have problems, I cant solve them", now after Queen's loss he said "It's ok, not important, I'm on the right way".

Lets be honest he has fallen further than Fed did when he dropped outside the top 5. Just look at his body language he has lost his confidence and from a psychological stand point he is defeated. I am not saying he couldn't come back but its doubtful that he will ever achieve the kind of success he had several years back. I think he needs a change and Uncle Tony needs to step away in order for him to rebuild his confidence. IMHO

Karlovic hits 45 aces against Berdych and wins. New Best of 3 record. Lisicki also hit a record 27 aces.

I think Nadal will be lucky to get to the 4th round of wimbledon this year. If he faces someone like Anderson early i think it could be that for this years tournament.

4th round exit would be according to his seed. He definitely won't be among the Top 8 so he could meet any of the other big 3 there.

Edit: Federer wins Halle and Murray wins Queens.
