Now half of the players will have a day off between R16 and QF, the other half won't (and Wawrinka will have to play 3 matches in 3 days if he wants to reach semis).

Because it's tradition.

Screw the tradition ! There were some unfinished matches on saturday. They could have played the day after but it seems like a blasfemy to play on the first sunday at Wimbledon

It's possible for Wawrinka to sue Wimbledon for that in case he doesn't reach the SF ? I would totally do it.

They don't play during middle sunday in order to give some rest to the citizens of Wimbledon.
The same peace and quiet they have for 350 days a year...

No he doesn't. Wawrinka can beat him. Rather he can lose any of his next matches

Shocker ! Good guy Kyrgios..Before the match he said: "I can beat Nadal"..he has done it in 4 sets.

Starting to believe Fed has some chances to win this tournament :D

Not to worry. According to the article I read, Berdych used a butt double. Integrity still intact.

Nadal falling against a 3 digit rank again. He's officially back to 2005 level when it comes to grass courts. Now a huge chance for Raonic to reach hist first SF.

Also I think Federer is still the better player on grass and will win vs Stan.

With Nadal loss, real Wimbledon final will be played with possible draw top part semifinal Murray/Djoko.

Don't disrespect the 7-time Wimbledon champion which by the way, won both matches he played at Wimbledon against Djokovic and Murray

Why saying that Djoko-Murray is the "real" final (in terms of game level and regarding last 12-month results) with Nadal loss would automatically be a mark of disrepect toward Fed  ? Beyond game level of each guy, facts are that Murray is defending champion, Djokovic can return to World N°1 rank if he wins tournament and those guys are the highest seeded still in tournament.

I get you and you're right but so are my arguments.
You can't just say that Fed would not be in the true final of this tournament considering that he won Wimbledon 7 times already and having never lost against those 2 guys in this tournament (sure, this year they might be favourites to win but still, nothing is certain until proven otherwise; he wasn't the favourite also in 2012 I think).

Judging with your arguments only, Murray vs Djokovic would have been the true final regardless. Nadal is sure, number 1 in the world but he was very poor the last 2 years here. Still, he was champion here twice and never lost against Murray at Wimbledon (beat him 3 times). He would have been in a true final even if he was number 100 in the world.

And btw, Fed is in front of Murray in the ATP Rankings. The Wimbledon rules made him be behind.

For instance, Djokovic vs Nadal was the true final at RG 2013 and there were many reasons to say that. The number 2 seed, Murray, just no comment :). Those two guys just had it all to be the best in that tournament. This is not the case

Lucian86 - the Fednazi

Fed has a great chance right now.....Murray is down 2 sets and I don't quite yet believe in Dimitrov as a GS champion. That leaves Djokovic as the the only obstacle. I think Fed prefers Djokovic to Rafa or Murray.

Of course anything can happen and Kyrgios winning it all will be a dream! ....same as Dimitrov.....or Wawrinka.

But right now, it looks like Fed or Djoker.....and it is REALLY close to call.
Level 13 Edberg and counting...
