SOCCER World Championships 2014 in Brasil

Postby Saarbrigga » Sun, 08 Jun 2014 22:46

The tournament starts this thursday, June 12th.

Which teams are your favorites?

Title defender is Spain, home team is Brasil.

Many teams have problems because their best players are out (becaus of injury). The French team comes without Franck Ribery, the German without Marco Reus.

The USA team is very "german". Their coach is german soccer legend Juergen Klinsmann, Co-trainer is Berti Vogts, also a soccer legend from Germany.

Most of the players are tired for the long season so it's hard to predict what's gonna happen, anyway I guess Spain and Brasil are the favorite teams to get the title, as usual...well and Germany, England, France, Italy blabla

Totally agree with you ! Our national team plays better as it is considered underdog, which is precisely the case this year in Brasil. Though Ribery is out (BTW, I think it's a good thing for team everyday life not to have taken a hurted Ribery, who could have been hard to manage, full of negative vibes...), our most important players seem to be in great shape, especially forwards.

Furthermore, never forget that we are the most feared team by Brasil 8) . Last time they won vs France in an official competition was in 1958 World Cup : Pele was 17, Garrincha the magician still alive, etc !!

What's this 'soccer' thing? :-p

I'm hoping Germany do well, but expect Brasil / Spain / Argentina to make a v strong showing.

Absolutely demolished. The Dutch were something else in that second half.

I root a little bit for the French team just because Pogba (my favourite player/big Juventus fan) plays there. Amazing player.

I'm pretty sure England won't go beyond QF, although they're my third favourite team in this WC (after Italy and The Netherlands)
