Watching the highlights one can easily remark that he hits pretty often only 1m beyond service square, which is way too short especially on clay where his spin isn't annoying for most opponents. Delbo played a really solid match there, with a bit of luck at the net when he needed it.

Another area where Fed was disappointing is the serve return, mostly casual and not trying to block it efficiently as he used to do it so often back in RG 2009 for example.

Basically once he played deeper shots and more risky returns, he controlled most rallies, but it seems he only relied on his talent, which isn't a good sign for the upcoming tournies.

I saw the black racquet and thought "Federer is either playing w/ a different racquet (like one of the blades) and is trying to cover for it.... or he just REALLY wanted a black paint job on the Six.One 90 ProStaff". IDK which one, any thoughts guys? :)

It's a completely new racquet, designed specifically for him. You cannot buy it.

Yet.

After his most recent performances any potential buyers would've been scared off anyway.

I want to see Federer and Nadal wearing these retro headbands
Never underestimate the pain of a person, because in all honesty, everyone is struggling. Some people are just better at hiding it than others.

Indeed. Just to be clear, I was joking. Topic drift is inevitable.

I just happened to see that picture on another site and thought, "Hey, where can I use that?"

The headbands are cool but I would REALLY like to see either one rock those old-man glasses!!!!

Imagine getting your ass beat by a guy wearing 5-inch thick glasses and a scarf.

Epic.

For quite some time, I've had a running debate with a friend about the silliest outfit you can wear and still be competitive. We had decided that this outfit was: speedo, knee high tube socks, bandana tied in the front 2 pac style, and of course a fanny pack to carry balls.
We were wrong, a scarf and old man glasses never occurred to either of us.

Screw speedos just play in a jockstrap.

A jockstrap with the glasses and the scarf and Federer's sweater-vest.

A jockstrap or ass-less chaps.

It's important to look like a Village Person when playing

Jockstraps were ruled out because it's much more difficult to win a match after being handcuffed. I do like the village people idea though, need to add one of those funky hats to the list as an alternative to the bandana.
This one, to be precise:

Dude I have read and re-read that and am still trying to figure out the connection between handcuffs and jockstraps LOL

Do you mean 'handcuffed' as in when a shot goes right at your body and you can't get out if the way of the ball???

Or do we just have vastly different experiences with/definitions of 'jockstraps'
