Well he won indian wells which is of course hard, but I have no idea of the the make up of the American courts, like if they are all deco turf, and it's just different altitudes and climates which give them different properties, or if they are all decoturf but have different subsurface like tarmac or concrete etc, like cincinatti could be easier on the knees than Washington etc.

Also before the Nadal match Federer was 10-1 to win, now all he needs to do is best Murray and djokovic which he did last year. Is now 3-1

Damn, where's my head. :stupd :stupd :stupd

So I guess he just hasn't won a grass court match in a year.

This was his first match on grass in 1 year, Nadal should've played at least 1 or 2 matches on grass before playing at Wimbledon, he's not an specialist on grass and needs to adapt, i guess that the decision of not playing Queen's was because the team was afraid of causing muscular fatigue in his knee but that mentality is not the right one to face a GS, well....i hope Darcis wins the tournament :D
Mcenroe still thinks he's the greatest player ever....yeah Big Mac is the man :tu

He said the same thing about Federer last year - seems Johnny Mac's GOAT is the most recent GS winner....

I think the Darcis win was more impressive since he won in straight sets and was only ranked #135. And yes, he played incredible, amazing one-handed backhand. Even held his nerves when Nadal had a breakpoint in the final set. He didn't have the cannon like Rosol to serve it home but played a great baseline game.

Yeah, it's not like he served him off the court or anything. He just outplayed him.

he served 13 aces this match is why you should have assumed rafa would beat fed rafa cant rely on grinding out an opponent playing as aggressive as darcis was on grass because it favours the better aggressive player 9/10. the slice bh that rafa runs around crushes with his fh with disdain is highly usefuly on this surface his topspin fh doesn't hurt the single hander as much. guys had success being aggressive against rafa on clay only he could use dogged defence to get back in the match he couldn't do that here

Nadal has WON Wimbledon , the guy has should NEVER have lost a set to this guy on any surface . If Federer hadnt played on grass for 10 yrs he still wouldnt have lost a set to that guy , it just goes to show how easy it is to beat Nadal on a faster surface , playing a few matches at Queens probably wouldnt have made a difference , Nadal was shocking , yes the other guy played good but Federer wouldve still beat him in straight sets

He has reached 5 finals and won twice so he must have obviously done something right then.

Completely agree with you but when you've seen a player so dominant on clay ( the GOAT on clay hands down) able to have such good results on grass with 2 Wimbledon and 1 of them against the GOAT on grass??, if Nadal could beat his opponents on grass like Fed "normally" does or like he does on clay that would be...well unbelievable....rest of players could quit tennis and have a good rest in Florida like a good retired person

i guess you're saying "on grass", although Nadal has better results on grass than Djokovic. This is the same old story as always when Nadal or Federer loses a match they should have won. We come up with the typical "he's done" "he's not that good" etc...old story.
I can't remember how many times i've seen posted on internet forums "Rafa's done"-"Federer is done" (when he got nothing in 2011) and look at them, they keep winning, not as much as before but they keep winning tournaments, in sports we tend to forget quickly, sad but true.
With aging Nadal will keep winning only on clay and Federer will keep winning mainly on grass, their specialities, and guess what! someday they'll retire, so yep they're human, Nadal is human
