Nadal is still weak apparently. In the interest of this gentleman tour and of each member of its community, I think it's necessary to make an exception to rules by allowing anyone to change his character during 1 evening. Why breaking rules here ?
1) Because there never was such a big change in the gameplay before. At AO the patch had far less impact in the exchanges and here in RG, it's totally obvious this will result in a rigged tournament.
I mean Gran Slams are peak of the ITST tour, funniest events of the year with 2000 points to allow ; some players here like tdb practiced a lot since february to get a nice result at RG.
At the end, they will loose against maybe less good opponents just because of stats. It's just not logical at all, and instead of being a source of pleasure, this tournament could lead to some kind of frustration...
2) The other reason is also simple : there is an obvious breach of equity. Some people were involved in the BETA 1.14 and then knew the stats before everyone. As these people play the tournament, it gave them an undeniable advantage in the character choice process. Most of them picked Djokovic or Fed for instance.
And there is also another natural inequity among people : some people work and could not try the 37 characters of the roster the day before the draw. I'm in this case, like Tdb and surely other silent people. With animations, spin and other stuff, it's not sufficient to just check the stats google doc sheet. It's important to try in game the characters and most of us had no time to do that in one night.
3) It has no disadvantage and creates no trouble, it can only result in a more fair and funny tournament with a far more legitimate winner. The awesome TE community deserves this !
