This Game is still really the best Tennisgame I ever played.
I mean Videogames are and will always be bounded to specific Physics and are not like real Physiks, where one human can jump six metres and the other only four metres because of his Fitness and Bodyphysics.

But if those Games wouldn't be about Skill and Experience the Competition would be worthless.
That's what makes those Gamecompetitions exciting and esports in general so good.

I really wonder why this Game isn't played by big Esports Leagues which could generate a Mode (ITST-Mode) like we have easily too.
This Game has almost everything in the bag to become a big esports Title, especially in the one on one Sector.
It would just need a real Specatormode besides the Demooption and you got a real potential esports title which doesn't only attract players, but rather People watching big Matches like in Games as Star Craft 2 and Counter Strike too.

I really like it. If I have enough from the Counter Strike Scene and Teamcompetition in general, I will only focus on one one one Titles like this Game or the new upcoming Reborn FPS which will be one one one focused too.

I like the one on one Competition because of the enormous concetration you put in those Games and because of the Independence you don't have in Team Games like Counter Strike.

Guys should definetifely stop playing Games like Top Spin and play something for real like this Game.

I mean so much I appreciated the very first Top Spin and a lil bit of the Successors, this Game is really a Cut above the Rest with everything it combines in Terms of a Tennis-Simulation.

Those Games like Tennis Elbow are so good, because they are easy to pick up and play but also offering enormous depth at the same Time, cause you can play it on a real high Level.

If you look at the Videogames History in different Genres it was always this simple Principle that made the big Games so good.

Yep, I gave a video preview, just told to focus on sound because I think this is not an ITST mod :)

Hey guys!

I would like to share my all-in-one sound package with you. Do not worry, I won't act like a record that's got stuck and thus keep repeating myself on strike sounds in the coming weeks and months.

Therein, you will find new chair umpire Steve Ullrich sounds (which I am very proud of ^^), Roland Garros clay shot sounds, Dubai shot sounds (hard indoors), Indian Wells shot sounds (hard outdoors) and WTF shot sounds.

I tried to do my best to enhance the sounds I already posted onto the forum and would like to thank the people who took the trouble to explain to me which specific sound aspects I had to improve. I guess those who did not say a word about them had found them rubbish, or at least not good enough to comment on them. Hopefully I won't disappoint you this time around.

I don't know if those freshly updated sounds have a promising future ahead of them, but I hope they will contribute to making you further enjoy the game. Besides, manutoo told me that he may add the possibility of having different shot sounds loaded depending on the court surface you choose to play on in one of his future TE updates.

I wanted to create sounds for Wimbledon and the US Open too, but I won't be able to do so, at least in the near future.

Hey mate, well, before your samples had some issues being cut to early, lacking the impact echo, overall too short.

But now that's a lot better, nice improvement.
I like your WTF and Indian wells sound sets. Dubai not that much (some samples sounds a bit weird to my ears but that's just me :) ), RG are not bad, some sounds are a bit "dry" maybe, one accel sound wich i dont like 'cause it's like too much low-pitched lacking some nervosity imo.

Maybe you can look forward to amplify a bit some samples volume, to match other environment sounds (umpire, crowd). Sometimes you want to lower the volume when playing cause of the umpires being loud and then you won't hear the ball impacts loud enough. Anyway that can be done afterwards :)

Your Steve Ullrich sounds are very good, i'm looking forward to include them in 1.13, probably :)
=> Maybe only your 15-0 sample would deserve a bit more echo/length, it's cut a bit short compared to others and one can notice it within the game.

About Umpire Sounds i also found that the Mohamed El Jennati sound set in Jairzinho pack ( http://www.managames.com/Forum/topic29-10797.php ) was very nice, unfortunately some score samples are f****d up, so i can't use it.

Also for your future works, not sure you know about it, but it's possible to edit the Sound.ini (in sound folder), so that we can have the game cycling thru more samples than the default, for example :

Code: Select all
Sound01      =   Hit_Low1.wav, Hit_Low2.wav, Hit_Low3.wav
Sound02      =   Hit_Med1.wav, Hit_Med2.wav, Hit_Med3.wav
Sound03      =   Hit_Str1.wav, Hit_Str2.wav, Hit_Str3.wav
Sound04      =   Ground1.wav, Ground2.wav, Ground3.wav, Ground4.wav, Ground5.wav
Sound05      =   Fault.wav, Out.wav
Sound06      =   Service_Low.wav
Sound07      =   Service_Med.wav
Sound08      =   Service_Str.wav, Service_Str2.wav, Service_Str3.wav

in this example TE will cycle thru 3 accel sounds (Hit_Str1-3) instead of having only one.
Same thing for strong serves cycling thru 3 different samples.
Seems the maximum is 3 samples for each shot type, not sure though.

That means, don't hesitate to make more samples for each impact type, as this brings some different tones / variety, though they have to be homogeneous enough.

About ITST Mod sound set i'm actually looking forward using a new custom pack wich is basically a mix, based on Lucian AO sounds (replacing two samples), and adding two samples from Bunburry, and two others i made myself ( an accel serve and regular accel shot from Federer/Blake 2008, nice video for sound ripping byt he way : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=78wdhx1tIGc :) )

Here is the pack : http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?9b1cccettfz9bg9

Hope you'll like it. If Manutoo include some feature to have soundsets linked to surfaces in a future build, we may include different ones hopefully then.

Hey everyone! :-)

As the release of the ITST mod 1.13 is probably approaching, I have decided to update the sound pack I posted some days ago.

Elias, I managed to fix the issue relating to my 15-0 Steven Ullrich sample, it has more length and echo now. Furthermore, your idea of raising the samples per strikes category, namely hit_low, hit_med, hit_str, is a very good one. I acted on your advice and decided to see what would happen if the number of samples were extended. There does not seem to be any limitation for the number of samples as I added up to eight different sounds in some categories. I think the best solution would be to have the following pattern:
Hit_Low: 4 to 5 sounds
Hit_Med: up to 8 sounds
Hit_Str: up to 8 sounds
Service_Low: 4 to 5 sounds or more if possible
Service_Med: 4 to 5 sounds or more if possible
Service_Str: 4 to 5 sounds or more if possible

I then played a couple of games against the CPU and I can tell you that with more samples per shots category, rallies are becoming less monotonous and thus more enjoyable as the game cycles through more sound samples.

As a result, you will find a sound.ini in the 2012 World Tour Finals and Indian Wells sounds folders. When copying the sound files into your ITST sound folder, please do not forget to include the sound.ini, otherwise, you won't be able to hear some strikes. If my sounds happen not to be to your liking and you want to get back to your older sounds, do not forget to paste the original sound.ini which I included in the folder « sound.ini original » contained in my .rar file for your convenience.

Just one last thing: If any of you could upload the updated pack onto another platform than mine, it would be nice. I am asking you this because some people seem to have trouble downloading the sounds through filedropper.com

Thank you in advance.

C4iLL, thanks for downloading it! :-)

The installation is quite simple, you'll see.

1. Make a copy of your original ITST sounds, including the sound.ini, so that you can get them back if you don't like my sounds. You can rename the folder "Original ITST sound" for instance.

2. To try the chair umpire sounds, just go into the Chair Umpire Steve Ullrich Sounds folder, copy all the sounds therein and paste them into your ITST sound folder. Windows will then ask you if you want to replace the already existing sounds by the new ones, just go for it.

3. As for the strike sounds, you can try out three folders : WTF - London 2012, Roland Garros and Indian Wells. Just do the same as in step2. Copy all the sounds, including the sound.ini, contained in the chosen folder and paste them into your ITST sound folder.

That's it! Just launch the game and play a match against CPU or online to hear the new strikes. In order to fully enjoy those new sounds, I advice you to switch the frequency to 44100Hz in the ITST audio settings. ;-)

If something's still unclear to you, feel free to ask me.

Danke! ;-)

If you deem that some sounds need improving or replacing, feel free to tell me about it. :-)

The more feedback I get, the more effectively I'll be able to raise the quality of those sounds.

Good news and very nice job done El Croato :)

You made some excellent samples in each category especially in your Indian Wells pack. Indeed some could be replaced or improved though i've not made a list :) After some short testing, i remember some of them were pretty short and/or not getting well along with the other samples (only two strikes i think, some low one, maybe one medium i'll re-check later on).

I'm pretty busy with other things at this time. But i'm definitely looking to use some of your IW samples to add them in the mix, i think several ones should fit pretty well. This will end to be some mixed surface sound set but that doesn't matters much imo as long as it sounds good.

Another thing i'm doing when building a soundpack is also creating a different volume enveloppe for each categories. Meaning for example, when i used Lucian sounds, i used an amplification filter (like +2b) for strong strikes, +1db for medium ones, 0 for low. Of course it depends on the original samples loudness level. That renders a better impact feeling in the game, cause it's always a bit weird to hear some soft top spin shot as loud as an accel, it's not always needed to do this tweaking though, really depends on the original recording.

I'll include your Ullrich sounds as well. I just changed the "Let, Second serve" => "Second serve", cause it felt a bit weird to hear "let" after a first serve out without even touching the net :)

It's an awesome job by you guys! The game feels really different since we started trying Lucian's sound, and it's gonna be even better with your work. Elias, when you will have the time to ultimate your sound folder, pls upload it so we can test it and give precious opinions (remember that I can be the headphones tester, even though I temporarily left them to enjoy your sounds, way better through my macbook speakers for some reasons).
