Hey guys, my first post here.
Some of you may recognize me from the ps3 version of topspin 4 2k-open, as I play that rather exclusively. And have probably played a few of you here at some stage. Okay onto my questions, I play Federer exclusively also, and I don't want to change him for another pro.

I am pretty good I think, but I am having trouble and I hope you pro players can help me out?

How do you beat a good Nadal player on clay as Federer? It just seems, almost impossible for me to win a good nadal player on clay, or really any court as fed? He is just so retardly overpowerd.

How do you counter-act R1 abusing players? Because it just seems silly? The players that dont hit a shot without the R1 trigger being held?

Last question is, I hit a lot of hard to reach shots with good-timing and the ball goes out? Especially dropshots? Is this game just broken or something?

First of all, there's not only one particular type of play you can use to beat Nadal. Not in the videogame: it depends by who is using Rafa.
If he is very good, you must try to serve slow, with slices or kick serves, so you dont give him the possibility to hit a winner (or a decisive shot) on return.
During the rally, what counts in reality, counts in videogames too: try to play on his backand, even using street cross court corners (but try not using'em on his forehand), and to vary the game.

For what concerns shots with good timing, maybe it's because he uses control shots to counter-attack your accelerations.

If the Nadal player is really good you have a 5% chance of winning. He is just too fast, too powerful and his backhand isn't weak enough to really abuse like you can do against Federer.

I actually can beat with practice and patience any other type of player except a good nadal lol Oh well.
