Not sure if this has been mentioned, but a three week gap between Roland Garros and Wimbledon is definite.

I am not sure I like it.

This was a challenge, a fast change in surfaces, that only great players can adapt to.

Sure, it will give players more time to prepare, so we will see better quality tennis.....but then again....it is not bad quality now :?

Moving Australian Open I think is a better idea.
Level 13 Edberg and counting...

If it leads to more grass tournies, then I'm for it.
Apparently Gstaad wants to change to grass and move before Wimbledon!

that would be a good thing, and to be honest a 3 week gap is not too much time and it will allow players to either spend more time on grass courts to get ready for Wimby or to have a well deserved rest after a tough clay season,.... so not a bad change in my opinion
Never underestimate the pain of a person, because in all honesty, everyone is struggling. Some people are just better at hiding it than others.

At first, I had the same opinion. It's going to take away from the accomplishment of winning the two tournaments back-to-back, so it's not quite as big a deal as it used to be. But....

The way they have slowed down Wimbledon, and even sped up Roland Garros (faster balls apparently?), it's already not as big a deal as it used to be. Federer and Nadal are great players, but in two years they each did what no one had done since Borg in 1980. I think the changes made at those two tournaments made it quite a bit easier for Fed/Rafa than it was for Borg. The prestige of winning both tournaments has been diminished, so might as well have a longer grass season, imo.

BTW: This is pretty cool looking. It's going to be weird not seeing everyone in white.

Only if more grass tourneys are added, is this a good thing. We need a masters on grass!!!

Definitely. Player power is quite strong and a lot of guys like playing on grass. I clay courters can't even moan anymore, as the truly great like nadal, Ferrer etc an win on anything. A grass masters would be nice, make Queens 500 series and the following week,, and keep the others as 250's

I always thought they should eliminate a Masters, and do it like this:

Slams: 2 hard, 1 clay, 1 grass.

Masters: 4 hard, 2 clay, 2 grass.

Germany got robbed of a Masters when Hamburg was downgraded so let's upgrade Halle from a 250 to a 1000 :D

Personally I think a 3 week gap between two Slams is way too short. Grass season is a joke anyway with just 4 ATP 250's and a Slam being played. If anything, Wimbledon should be moved 2 weeks forward.

Oh yeah and moving the Australian Open to February.

There's one tournament after Wimbledon that is still played on grass, Newport. Being in the US, it would give North American players a nice base to train if it's being moved before Wimbledon.
