Talk about anything related to the ATP and WTA tours.

so cocky

:D It was! Right?! But I prefer this Roger, a bit of flare to otherwise quite boring personality. Not Samprass boring, but still, rather blunt.

Tears of sorrow or anger? I am sure personally, I would basically destroy half of the locker room... I would be really mad and looking to direct my anger at anything really.

"But most of the people do." - do you know most people personally or through a friend?

I am not taking your opinion away, you entitled to it.

Like I said it's a general behaviour. And btw most of the people have cried after losing. I mentioned the names of some of those who cried after losing above. And there are many more to that list I believe

So there are more of the ones that didn't cry. In fact, I am willing to bet that there are more people that don't cry after losing then the ones that do cry, by a good percentage - thus making NOT CRYING as "general behavior" and crying as an exception.

Care to prove me wrong?

Yea the ones who are consistently losing in big matches will definitely cry. Now if you're gonna say guys like gulbis who lose in first Or second round dont cry after losing then I completely understand you lol

"Yea the ones who are consistently losing in big matches will definitely cry."

Wow, you are soooo sure about it. That's all the proof I need really, your reassurance.

Like it or not, with all the talk about Gulbis, he puts in more dedication in sport called Tennis then you think. So it's a good pun, I'll give it to you, as long as you understand that Gulbis winning, losing, staying in top 100 etc does not come from him randomly showing up for events or getting an occasional hit on Sundays. He practices for hours every day....long hours. He gets criticized because he is not putting 10 tennis hours a day like Rafa + diet plan + rest plan + crap Plan + peepee plan. But he still dedicates most of his life to the sport.

But again, Gulbis hasn't lost 4 Grand Slam finals. :P

I'm not gonna lie, if I lost once or twice I wouldn't cry. If I lost a third I would feel beat down and be doubting my chances or ever winning. If I lost a 4th I would just let hell break loose because I would pretty much be of the opinion I am unlikely to ever win one. I would also rather cry on the court in public rather than smash shit up though, to be honest.

Indeed, Gulbis has a better Grand Slam Final record then Murray

Did Lendl cry after losing a GS final in public?

BTW - it's not the tears, it's the sobbing into the mic that I didn't like. I understand that it is painful and blah blah...OK, wet your face a bit, shed a tear...but collect yourself when you address the crowd.

This was Roger's moment, spotlight, he is the winner, he is what Murray wanted to be. I think he should have cut his speech in half. Thank everyone and let the person that did better then you speak. Instead he sobbed into the mic for too long.

I know the media there is very responsible for it and is a big part of the blame. It sounded like he really thinks he let "everyone down", if I would be his coach I would beat that crap out of his head. He need to play for himself, not for the country, tennis is an individual sport first, then country.

Kinda sad, because like you say, this may just be the end of his chances.

I guess that would be difficult trying to address the crowd. You would be like "Ok. Collect yourself. Then speak - I would first like to thank Roger for bein.. - ****. I'm crying again. - ...g better than me. - Oops, here comes the tears - . At least I'm getting closer - Crap, and again."

It would be difficult. Everything you had to say would just remind you that you lost.

And I am unsure about Lendl. But then again, he is just a man of steel, no?

Oh, and I guess he was on the mic so much because bloody Slapper Sue Barker wanted to question him. She is such a tool. I mean, she was the one who kept asking questions to Nalby after he had already apologised.

If crying was the "general behavior", we wouldn't talk about it when it happens. Instead, we'd talk about the guys who don't cry....

"Rafa is so mentally tough. He lost the final, and didn't even cry."
"Andy didn't cry when he lost that match. I guess he doesn't even care."
"Roger, that was a tough loss. Would like to have a good cry before your interview?"

Although he's my favorite player, Federer losing it after the '09 final in Melbourne was the worst. It wasn't like he just got a little choked up - it was violent, uncontrollable, little-girl-who-just-watched-her-puppy-get-hit-by-a-car-on-Christmas, sobbing.

Victories come they go away, losses come they go away, tears come after losing they go away, no one will ever hold a loss all of his life, that he wont be able to play better. Take federer for example he cried in Australian open final when lost against nadal, improved came back stronger. Murray cried in Australian open final, came back stronger in the Wimbledon final. No one will hold a loss mentally for his lifetime. These sportsmen win/lose, they move on. Crying really not a big deal. Leaving the court early is childish but tears of sorrow are acceptable depending upon the matchups. Not even worth discussing in the first place in my opinion.
