ITST Mod 1.18 - What do you need to get started!

Why like always when I instal an update am I not able to start my game anymore.. very annoying for me. Installed the latest Tennis Elbow build and after the ITST mod and now when I start my game it sais:

"The program finds an unruly exeption
Crash logged in file "System.log". "

Anyone knows what this is and what I must do?

Strange thing indeed. Did you used a fresh install of the full version ( wich you can find it here : http://www.managames.com/download.php?TE2011_fe10e.exe ) , not a TE patch update right ?

if this is a recurring bug, it may have to do with a conflict with your system and/or a driver i don't know. Maybe you should then, send the content of the system.log to Manutoo (ask for it in the Managmes forum, bug section for this : http://www.managames.com/Forum/forum5.php ), he may be able to help you then hopefully.

This doesn't make sense at all to me. I reinstalled the game, but I notice there is no SAM's patch included in these steps. If I only install the game itself and the ITST mod there are no Federer etc and still the old layout of the game...

There is no need for Sam patch indeed. Only TE last build + ITST mod. You say you see the old layout that means your game doesn't crash anymore with an "unruly exception" right ?

After installing do you follow the installation steps decribed in the main post, eg. creating manually an "ITST" profile, enabling the advanced options ?

I have the solution..... There is a great bug against you ! The game , when see your ip and name make errors all the time because don't want that you kick some Ass. on TE!

Well the menu layout was really not our priority, but moreover to play online without desyncs wich was the main issue. Now i'll probably create some custom ITST mod layout in a future update.

Well I think the patch layout is a kinda kitsch (the default one is a bit too but it's got TE character).

I suppose it was selected for the standalone ITST version to be lighter too.

I cannot join to another player because of this alert "This host has the official game and you have installed the mod ITST1.07". What I did wrong? Offline game works perfect (all players and courts). Good job guys!

You did nothing wrong. You can play online only with people having the same mod. One player running the standard game can't play an online game with someone running a modded game. So you may keep two versions of the game in your PC. There is still not much people around playing with our mod, but it's slowly growing, you may also connect our IRC chat to find some ITST mod users here : http://webchat.quakenet.org/?channels=TE2011&uio=d4

I think it would be a good idea for newcomers to have at least pictures for each step they have to do or maybe a YouTube video. If the idea is welcome, I'll do it (and maybe a bit more, like a printable instruction booklet in PDF format).

It's been quite some time since I suggested this. Here is a first version:

First of all, I'd like have some feedback if this is detailed enough for newcomers to install Tennis Elbow 2011 and the ITST Mod alone.


What I am going to add is a section "Frequently Asked Questions" with answers to "How do I record a match? How do I play recorded matches?" or "How can I return better?". Any more relevant questions these days?
