Defensive Lobs

Postby ELTXETXU » Thu, 03 May 2012 20:44

Hi! I would want to know which is the opinion of the people about defensive lobs with triangle button (no defensive control top spin shots). I know that in real tennis is a common shot, but in TS4 gives you an advantage that, for me, is unfair.

That shot, not only allows you to stay in a point that you had lost. It gives you the control of the point again.

Maybe its only my problem, but when someone use a defensive lob against me, usually my next shot is weaker than it should be

I totally agree. With me it usually roots my player 2 the spot and he is left standing there for an eternity, unless I am already approaching the net.

Reading this topic poumadoro was the player that came into my mind.. Damn him used welch and above that kept hitting defensive lobs when I was in attacking position.. I hate this shot but using it against welch is fair

They're far too easy to execute. It shouldn't happen that a lob that was tapped too late perfectly floats over a 6'4 opponent (who is not quite hugging the net) and into the court. Lobs that aren't well-timed should always go out or fall short.

Also on some occassions my player refuses to smash a rather short lob but instead runs back a bit, waits and then hits a tweener...

I'm totally against these defensive cheesy lobs. These exploit explain 80% of my defeats since the update.

I won't give names, but a lot of people abuse of that against me in situation nobody would ever do a lob in real life (ex : winner lobs in end of course near the net, return lobs, or off course defensive lobs on the baseline which is a classic).
Before it was exception, now, it became the game plan of most of my opponents... As it's not funny to loose like that, I'm near stopping TS4.

But what can we do ? Before the update at least, this problem didn't exist...

Some time ago, before the update, people used defensive dropshots and hitted dropshots when you were volleying. Now its time for defensive lobs.

I really can't understand why people do such things. Only makes the game boring and unreal. And yeah, i know, its just a game, but exploit a defect of the game its absolutely unfair. If we do this things there arent any diference between ITST and WT.

I really hate it....when your ahead on a rally and they are way off...poof lob....my player stays rooted or the rally restarts......i rage quit when i try to charge a shot and when i release my player is just standing there staring at the ball....a wtf is usually followed.

Are they banned yet?

Cheesy defensive lobs, defensive drop shots or hitting drop shot volleys every time someone comes to the net has to be illegal and classed under cheesy/un-sim right?

Also, Using drop shots and lobs to return serves are considered cheesy/un-sim too right?
Blood in my mouth beats blood on the ground.
