Comparing the glitch set up with the update

Postby wdob1985 » Sun, 15 Jan 2012 14:58

Hi guys

Just played a couple of Games with ZGUEN.he wanted to show me the difference in play with first of using a glitched player and then using a normal updated player.

First ZGUEN used the glitched set up and you could easily see the difference in the quality of the drop shots and the speed and the angles he was hitting they were good powerfull shots that there was no way of me returning them.

Next was using an updated player you could see that the quality of the drop shots were not as good as in the first match and although he could still hit some great angles using control shots you could see that the quality of the shots was different and you could at least make a play on the shots.

Question for the management of itst
I think you should test this out to see for your selfs that there is a massive difference between the two

We are aware of the glitch and working on a resolution. Suggestions are welcomed.

From what I have observed is that if you accept the TS4-Invite directly without going through all those "connecting to top spin server" screens etc then your player will be pre-patched and will be extremely powerful...

Maybe we all make sure that when we play our matches that no one starts of at the Xbox dashboard.

And that maybe the higher ranked players should be the one to invite for the match

Wow...The first time I heard about a glitch like that...

That is extremeley unfair!

And I have been always the one, who invited all the others. No I know, why I never won against the "big ones" :-P lol.

Actually, according to what Tdbchess said, the glitch may be impossible to identify in 1 of the 2 possibilities to make it happen:

1/ It's possible to make the glitch happen when you get invited from the dashboard of the xbox or the ps3, i.e. without setting the game first. The game will load without updates, or, at least, you will be able to have a huuuge advantage on your opponent. The fastest way to check that, in my opinion, is to do some dropshots : they are just as deadly as they used to be before the last updates. But for sure, all the shots are better, especially the cross court ones (i tried that with my Welsh player so i don't know what it does with powered players).

2/ If Tdbchess is right, it is also possible to cheat by disconnecting and reconnecting the xbox live or the PSN while in game. I haven't checked that, and to be honest, i don't even want to get in that s*** anymore cause i'm a bit disgusted.

The point is : checking if your opponent is cheating must be possible in the first possibility, as if you are the one inviting, you are free to check what your opponent does thanks to the Home button of your pad. If you see "Top Spin 4 - In the menus", then "Dashboard", then "Top Spin 4" again, then no need to be Columbo for knowing what's going on.

BUT if what Tdbchess says is right concerning the 2nd possibility, i don't know how it would be possible to check the honesty of an opponent. An example : you have an appointment for playing an ITST match against X at 12 o'clock. When you connect at Xbox Live or at PSN, you see your opponent in the game menus of TS4. But how can you know he hasn't disconnected and reconnected BEFORE you got online ?
My humble suggestion would be to ask for both players to set the game at the same time : both of them would be online, and they wouldn't accept an invitation from the dashboard of their system. And that's possible to check.

Another thing has to be checked : when you make the God glitch happen, does this mean you will play without updates all the time until you turn the game off, or only for 1 match ? I mean, does this only work for the first match you play, or you keep that creepy status for the next ones ? I don't know.

This stuff is very bad and i really hope it can be fixed in a sure way. On the other hand, it explains so many weird things i'm sure many players have felt in the past months...

Well if thats true its a big blow to everybody that plays TS4 not only because everybody will always be thinking that their opponent is cheating whenever they are losing but it gives people more reason to cry and complain.

Agreed with lOkisharpshooter... But one question is that how can anyone enter a lobby if it's player is without updates?? I think this depends upon the connection between two players as well.. The better connection the more fast the game will be and so will be your shots.. My matches against some players are always very fast when me and my opponent both are hitting very powerful shots but against some guys with laggy matches the shots seems to be slower

The only true resolution is to have both players connect to the World Tour visibly then enter the match. I believe that would work? The only issue with that is one player could still technically enter into glitch then send an invite so it would have to happen very quickly. A true resolution would be quite difficult to achieve.

But yes the glitch makes a big difference. It wouldn't make a good player bad but it would certainly make any player BETTER.

If a good or great player is playing without patch then there is no chance to beat him. Anyone will be better, especially those charging power shots all the time benefit greatly because suddenly they can hit them deep all the time - without even timing them perfectly.

As zguen said: One can see where players are in the game. So I think the following should work.

1. Both players are online in the Dashboard respectively PSN Home Menu, no having started Top Spin 4, yet.

2. Both players start Top Spin 4, press start, go to the practice courts and then move on the Game Menu.

3. If a player goes offline in that moment one will be notificated. In that case the player has to leave Top Spin 4, go online in Dashboard or PSN Home and then start Top Spin 4 again.

4. To make sure nothing happens: The player accepting the invite has to be connected to the World Tour while doing so.

I've tested the following: If you accept one invite, so that you play without patch, and after the match you leave the lobby and accept another invite you can still play without patch. So in that case: Better Start the game again, don't know if connecting to World Tour will solve it.

That's what needs to be tested. If you connect to the server you should be glitch free and I believe you must connect to the server to access the World Tour. I'm not 100% on it. Anyone interested in testing with me on 360 I'd be glad to find a solution.

EDIT: Also necessarily assuming both players start the game at the same time wouldn't always work. One player could have an agreement with someone else to invite them into the game, thus giving the perception the game is starting simultaneously and then from there they could invite or be invited, so it's win/win.

Didn't think of that one, have to check how the In-Game status is reflected in the PS Friends List when accepting an invite directly in PS Home Menu (whether it goes "Top Spin 4", "Hitting some balls on the practice courts", "Navigating through the game menu" or if it directly goes to the latter point).
