Bottom line is you guys all do cheesy shit to win so it's funny when I hear somebody complain...I've played many a vocal 'anti-cheese' player from here who felt the need to do things like hit drop shots on a dead sprint from the baseline...lol Baghdad whateverhisnameis I can't remember, he once sent me a message in between 1st and 2nd sets taunting me after he won the 1st set...and played on, acing me like 3 times while I was responding to his message. LOL you all cheese so just stfu.

What is the actual etiquette for sending messages during a match?
I quite often totally lose my concentration by trying to send a message during / between sets.

The etiquette is: DON'T DO IT

If you're going to send a message though you should give the other guy the courtesy of having time to respond.

It's ok to do it to people like me though, cuz I'm not 'SIM'.

I have never sent a message during a match
Never underestimate the pain of a person, because in all honesty, everyone is struggling. Some people are just better at hiding it than others.

I haven't either...so I kinda thought it was funny that I could inspire such hatred that somebody (somebody who like 10 of you guys seem to worship for some odd reason) would actually send me a taunting message during a match.

Pure Sportsmanship

Well, that would be a different situation....

sending a PM just to taunt somebody after winning the 1st set...that's what I'm talking about and that's what I'm saying is wrong.

It's ok I'm a tough bastard, I really don't care what some pussy nerd half a world away thinks of me..I just know it's totally against what ITST has always meant to me

I wouldn't message at all during a match, but if it has to be done then the opponent should show some sportsmanship and keep the game at deuce all the time.

Another scenario, totally off topic, is when you have to accept a telephone call during an ITST match (or are unable to play for a minute or two because of some other reason). Happened to me a few times, fortunately it never mattered because either I was winning or losing regardless of my opponent taking the free points. In that case the opponent should keep the game at deuce.

I do this also on World Tour when I see my opponent is currently not playing and sometimes they wonder why I returned the points.

LOL what a good idea.
I was actually sipping a martini during my match today. (Though not an excuse for losing).

If I've had to PM during a match it's because there's been an issue with the opponent, or because I had two matches queued up for one night, and I had to tell the other guy I'm in the middle of a match.

I've also had to take calls, but the bluetooth headset is a good idea ;)
