Not all games need to look good to be good. :P

Case in Point: DMT, Mount and Blade, Age of Empires II, Europa Universalis III etc etc.

I'm sure there will be a demo for you to try when it comes out anyway.

The thing that scares me about the gameplay from that video is just how fast the players move. It's like they're just gliding above the court rather than actually having to run, and so they are moving waaaay too fast.

Well, it's possible to hit winners, so you can still take that as a consolation. :P

For sure, for sure.

But their approach does not give me confidence. Graphics are nothing without gameplay, but their animations show a fundamental misunderstanding of tennis. I hope the gameplay is separate from that.

Thx Atlichna for the video.

My thoughts:
-the game is finished. At least graphics and animations will not change. So no hope for graphic lovers...
-80% of this game was ready in 2009 at the Wii release
-Vieira & VMoe: +1
-gamaplay engine seems to be the same as GST 1(which would be a good thing ;)), but it is hard to tell after this little points. He doesnt hit a single topspin, only flat shots and slice and the AI wasnt the best...
-GST gameplay might not be as realistic as topspin3/4 but it feels somehow more complete
-cant wait to see more gameplay, also with move

Another preview here in french :

http://www.jeuxvideo.com/articles/0001/ ... review.htm

They say that's it's currently impossible to make any error/fault : you can hit the ball as hard as you want and it never gets out at that step of the development.

They also say it won't be a real competitor to TS4, who has a more advanced gameplay. Actually, it would be an alternative for non-hardcore player.

Article

Seems pretty good to me. :tu Top Spin 4 looked much better than what it actually was, maybe this is the exact opposite, if animations are all you care about I wonder how any of you can play TS4 without cringing.

Hopefully it will be better than TS3 not worse. TS3, to me anyways, is the standard of tennis video games, the short time I played TS4 I found it way to boring in comparison. Always the same construction of points over and over again, what made TS3 so great was the versatility of play on the court. (not to mention risk )

From that article
"During our test, it seemed almost impossible to hit too hard and then the ball out to the court. No unforced errors, the dream of any tennis ... "

:(

I like the idea that racquets and shoes will have an influence on things. I wonder will the surfaces actually play differently....different bounces? I guess they'll adjust the speeds.

One thing that really annoyed me about TS4 is that Djokovic won't slide on a hard court, but everyone can and does on clay. Wonder if that will be included here.

I will be contacting EA soon. Should they chose to establish a contact and "work" with ITST I shall have plenty of details on it. Stay tuned guys.
