Shanghai Palace - Difficulties to see the ball

Postby Firderis » Sat, 08 Oct 2011 16:22

Hello mates,

looking at Shanghai Rolex Masters, concerning this court I do have big problems to see/estimate where the ball bounces. Do you feel the same way?

If two players have the same opinion when playing Shanghai Rolex Masters, there should be no problem to pick another court, or? For me it's just horrible to play on it. Do you think the same?

Yeah, it´s so dificult to see the ball well in that court. I think that any tournament shouldn´t be played in it. But it's decission of the host. Anyway, i think if both players are agree, they could plaay in another court. But i´m not sure about that.

as long as it's played on hard court and both guys agree i see no problem

honestly we have much bigger problems than that

Well, if you can't estimate where the ball bounces it's a problem as it ruins your timing. So it's at least worth to mention this.

And it does not mean any additional effort for a host if two players just agree to pick another court if it's tolerated.

Totally agree! Shanghai and chile are terrible courts! They are both black so its very hard to see where the ball bounces! But i think playing online games like we play on itst, there is a marker showing where the ball its gonna bounce! Only on world tour there is no marker!

Yeah, when I play on that court I have NO idea where the ball is going to bounce(unless there's a marker) or how high it is. A real pain to play on :(

Same. You guys should just change it to either Seoul Colosseum or Indian Wells. It looks reasonably similar to the real life court in Shanghai. By the way, was fun owning COD with you Xavi!

Shanghai tournament, Shanghai court.

We cannot stop two opponents wanting to play elsewhere, but if at least once wants to play the designated court - then you must play there.

Remember, conditions are same for both players, and considering low unforced error count that is present in TS4, more of them will be welcomed.

I agree BT, this court is NOT comfortable to play on, but for me, that is part of the challenge.

I agree with all of this except the bit at the end regarding 'part of the challenge'. No tennis player, in real or online should have an issue of being able to see the ball.. especially indoors .
