I can tell you guys for a fact that only the tennis aficcionados know Graf of Selles and that 100% of people that touched a raquet know Federer or Nadal.

let me put like this if you would go on a tennis club 10/10 people would know Fed or Nad, and maybe 4/10 would know Graf or Seles.

and the everyday normal people has never heard of Graf while he probably has heard of Federer.

if youre 13, maybe. Graf is not less than a tennis legend, everybody who owned a tv set or did read the newspapers in the 90s knows about her.

Your sentence makes no sense, do the math

Owner of tv or paper reader(that cares for tennis) = 10-15 years minimun in 1990-1995 = 31-36 years in 2011.

So not only 13 year olds but anyone under 30(that isnt a tennis fan) probably never heard of Graf.

And thats how you prove a point beatche.

i'm 22 and i've always known who Navratilova is, and Billie Jean King come to that. i knew long before i started watching tennis because they get mentioned on tv for other things, like Navratilova is perhaps the most famous lesbian ever?...after Ellen of course! (and Rosie if you're american!)

i'm not saying with this that because i know them others should do, but this is why i'm slightly surprised, also in the UK everyone knows who Sue Barker is, she's on TV all the time. ...this is how i thought people knew who these people are, if it's different in your country please don't be shy and say so!

I don't know a lot about who video games creators aim when they create/sell their games, so I won't comment on your last comment. ^^

i think we are talking about people in general, if someone who wasn't a tennis fan bought the game, would he recognaise the people in it?

I live in Florida, and almost everybody at least knows Federer and Nadal (and Djokovic maybe). I don't know how it is in other states, but here tennis is maybe 4th, 5th favorite sport to watch on average.

Yeah, in the US about 4-5% or less of the population actually follow the US open (I think).

Honestly the most popular sport is American Football, by far.

Although a vast percentage of the people who would self-identify as 'Football fans' are actually just casual observers who have basically no idea what's going on, who any of the players are, etc etc etc- they're just fairweather fans and bandwagon-hoppers. The majority of the sports-watching populace are idiots here, I'll be totally honest. Football fans are the absolute worst.

I think I still prefer it to one of those countries where they periodically kill each other over soccer match results, though.

Basketball and baseball are probably close behind.

I generally dislike team sports and people who are fans of team sports. I hate people who 'have a team'...those are the people too lazy to actually delve into and learn about the sport they say they like, they just want to 'have a team' that they can 'cheer for' every year regardless of who is ACTUALLY ON THE FREAKING TEAM. Seriously it does not matter to these people, all they wanna do is 'have a team to root for'...blah, so stupid.
