SIM warm-up tournaments feedback

Postby djarvik » Sat, 03 Sep 2011 01:04

Please use this thread to give us some feedback and match reports on the matches you play in warm-up tournaments.

It would be great if you can take a screenshot of the stats at the end of the match. This will help us see if there are problem areas needing fixing.

I will create the draws shortly for the two of the warm-ups with Draw of 16. Waiting on a few more sign-ups.

Third warm-up tournament will remain open for late signups, will be Draw of 32 and will start on Monday.

Good luck everyone!

dude i totally agree with you. I would LOVE there to be a women's SIM tour. I could see the only problem being that there wouldn't be enough people willing to play the women's SIM tour?

It wasn't done before due to a lack of interest, however with enough keen members and enough interest it will be seriously considered for sure.

Yes, it is all going to be decided depending on how many ppl are interested.

Yo!
I just got my nice little butt kicked by Dionl1993 (On the Hard Tournament)!!
We were both playing using Nakamura (2 beautiful ones by the way! Yes, I'm proud of how my Nakamura looks like... ).

I lost 6-0, 6-0... How about that!
I didn't take time to watch the stats since I don't like to suffer... But Dionl1993 was playing nicely, using well the entire court (we were playing at Indian Wells), making me run for every points! Every time I tried something (a very little try) he was countering me easily... I don't remember his serves, but his shots were well mastered...

Congrats to you Dion, and good luck for next matchs!

It was clear that Indiantonike had way more experience with the sim-players than me  Guess I have to train a little bit more, although I think i would have lost on the normal tour too

Hey, just got beaten 6-1, 6-1, gg Khult! Me Rogers, him cannon.

I know Khult is better than me, but I did not feel this match was very sim, just kind of a toned down regular tour. Still no errors, and speed DID NOT matter at ALL! I mean, I ran him left, right, left, right, wrongfoot, left, and he has 0 stamina, and he comes up with a flat backhand winner DTL on the dead run! It really made me mad. In short, ik Khult beat me, and he deserved it, but the speed and stamina did not make a difference at all, so all that was left was power, which he had more of.

I´ve played some SIM matches against BahgadOrgaSIM, OuiMrberson, Garghamell, RainingAmoeba, Sleepy and Turbine.(Sry if i missed anyone).

What i can say from playing these matches against those greats players is that SIM is so much more strategic and maybe slower than the regular tour.

In the regular one you can try to angle/power/go to the net on any ball, in SIM you cant, you gotta keep exchanging deepshots whit your oponnent until someone leaves their ball more short on the court, this is the first stage of the point, after someone ball gets short u can try: 1 go to the net, power shot DWL, or angled shot, depending on how good your attack was you can
1:Win the point. 2. Lose it. 3. Come back to exchanging deep shots.

This was how my matches developed. Just know that i´ve only played against AA and DFB. I use Fortis.

Just played my warmup with Sanoww. I used Stryker, he used Fusman.
It was what I expect from a sim match. No recommendations to make.
Sadly I had to leave the match after the first set from some practical stuff here at home.
