If im playing a big server I tend to hit deep slice returns, as alot of the time it is the only way to stay in the point. Ive noticed sometimes my opponent move backwards, is that a glitch return?

Ive never had an opponent accuse me of a glitch return, but I just want to be sure I have never done one by accident.

thread #761 about the GR

its easy to do accident if u control shot return.

i, too, agree with others here that giving up the pt on a GR is counterproductive. cant think of a similar rule for any other kind of "cheese". should you give up the pt when u get the floating lob that never lands after hitting a desperation shot? or what about when u hit an absurd short angle on the running while basically falling down? :P

Even if it is by accident, you are supposed to give your opponent the point. Why? Because you broke the rules.

It doesn't matter if it is on purpose or by accident - glitch returns are against the rules and unfair, so you must give your opponent the point.

These kind of thing will bring much more trouble than solutions, IMO, because I really doubt that the opponent will give the point after a GR.

Again, you want to punish someone who made something accidentaly, but he could avoid it if he knows how to?

I´m just pushing this subject because I still see some GRs happening sometimes and I NERVER saw someone give up the point or say, at least, I´m sorry.

I see your point, and I agree partly:

If you don't know how to do it, then you can't know you did it, even on accident.

BUT, if you know you hit a glitch return, then you really should give up the point. Will your opponent do the same? Maybe not, but does that matter? At the end of the day, you only have to worry about yourself. Personally, I don't like winning points if I know I did something unfair.

. Q-awesome-95 is new here I ve practiced with him and he never glitch returns.. Just because those players lost against q-awesome that doesn't mean that he glitch returns.. Those were tough matches and anyone could of the two players could have won It.. Just because they lost so now they are blaming him.. Do u even know that oshiee serves at 240 km.. How came-awesome glitch return On such a fast serve??? Be a little more patient before u blame anyone

best solution in my opinion if you hit glitch return by accident is to give a deep middle ball next shot

man, i got destroyed yesterday by bkristian. he's an excellent player, but man, it seemed like 4 out of every 5 returns pushed me a good 30 feet behind the baseline. i dont know if this was the glitch return or not, but it sure seemed like it. i was totally unable to do anything with his returns. they were really high and really really really deep.

It could be a high TS return, or a glich return, but brikistan is a fair payer, so i doubt he glitched.

well i certainly thought that he was a clean player...

but on the other hand. i was up 3-0, serving in the first set, and i was surprised by this of course. and then, all of a sudden, his return game just caught fire, this is really when i remember the returns coming back with much more depth and much less pace and leaving me in a totally useless position. i'm not saying this is the reason he won, but it certainly completely changed the momentum of the match.

and uh, i also just received a message from a very noteworthy person on the boards who seems as tho they 'might' be thinking along the same lines as i am, but it's a very cryptic message, very strange going's on here on itst.

wouldn't you say so?
