out wide serve cheesy and against the rules ?

Postby ben-1802 » Mon, 29 Aug 2011 16:53

just finished a match and my opponent complained it was cheesy and against the rules as i slice serve out wide (although i do not stand out wide to do it) to me its part of the game as your serve is designed to open up the court for your 2nd shot. No one else that i have played has ever complained i think its because he was a set and 4-0 up and lost it that he started complaining but anyway i just wanted to get your views as i dont believe it was cheating or cheesy but want to hear your views. Also i should point out that i only do this on the deuce side and about 70% of the time on that side. Any feedback would be appreciated

Some people seem to think that a serve shouldn't help you win a point....

I woudlnt complaying if people star returning slices deep to counter that serve cause thats the only way to try get back to the court.

I´ve seen people compaining about that here so just saying.

Zero power slice wide is the cheesyiest thing in TS4, especially with 98 server but a normal power or advanced its fine(i think).

Even on the opposite side of duece were zps. Less than 10 serves with ny power in the whole game. My point was zps slice out wide as gives plenty of time to power up. This imo is cheating just for easy points. Jr said 70% all zps

firstly its 94 serve and 94 power and secondly why is it cheesy? because its not fair to have an advantage when your the server? if thats the case then this game has gone rather stupid and unrealistic. Also if i was standing out as wide as i could and then slice serving wide i would argue that its unrealistic and would be cheesy but i wasnt. Also its the same as the whole dropshot thing you have to find a way to win if someone does it. I was 6-3 4-0 down to you and couldnt get close on your serve then i changed up my returns and broke u 3 times in a row to take the 2nd set. Its about adapting.

also that was a kick serve out wide on the Ad side and its another way of getting you off the court. If u want next time we play tell me beforehand where u want me to serve and ill do that just for you.

Should point out that a kick serve on here is known as a topspin serve

u mean my slide serve out wide? well im sorry can you tell me a way to hit a hard slice serve on here? id love to know. Also did u mention you still broke me 7 TIMES ????? doesnt seem like that good of a "cheat" in your words to me. Also you try telling all the big left handed servers in the pro game today ppl like Feliciano Lopez etc etc the the famour lefty out wide serve from the ad court isnt allowed because its "cheesy" would love to see the looks you get. Again ill repeat if i was standing as far wide as i could and serve slice out wide unrealistically then i would agree with also as someone before has mentioned there are ways to counter this serve you just didnt figure it out consistently.

Also to me taking advantage of a flaw in the game i would regard as cheating but using a winning tactic is not cheating neither is the slice serve unrealistic.

Your focusing on the wide slice. Zero powered serveing is cheesy.
