Guys, please step away from the line when returning.

Yup, it's becoming the new 'thing' when it comes to unwritten cheese, so please if anyone wants to step on the line or over it when returning, do so on the World Tour, Exhibs etc, and hopefully not at the U.S Open. Thank you very much 8)

Surely you should be allowed 2 come up on second serves. Even though its basically another first serve.

I don't think you can really enforce how to stand when someone returns, why would you not stand on or over the line if someone is serving particularly slowly. If someone is serving fast then it is likely the shot will go in the net I find if you are standing inside the baseline, it doesnt really give you an advantage...I often do what Andy Murray does and stand back as they are about to serve then move just over the baseline to use the power for a fast return, works really well and usually doesnt come back if timed right.

It's definitely easier to return on or inside the line when returning, whether fast or slow. It isn't even debatable lol.

Please, when you play against me don't play control shots, don't run (just walk !), and last but not least, don't try to win the game, because winning a game is just a cheesy thing which should be forbidden nowadays !

Ok I'm not for unnecessary whining either. That said, standing inside the baseline is cheesy. It was even forbidden on the TS3 tour.

Dont belive its that cheesey, look at Serena Williams she always stands well inside the baseline, and just serve into their body to get a short return.. Just a thought?!¿

The point is that returns are shit in this game... They are too effective in general, and the same is for some kind of serve... In Top Spin 5 they have to improve this.

That's not question about cheesy or not.

I didnt think many people had mastered the return of serve, I find I play alot of players and I pretty much always end up being able to read the serve and get alot of free points off it with winners, I don't really find that many people do that back to me, so I'd say returning was the best part of my game, the feeling you get when you it a winner off a fast serve is so good :D

The only thing they need to change probably is when you hit a great serve and the other player can balloon it back so you move past the baseline making it hard to hit a decent shot back, that's not particularly realistic. Someone with a very good serve should be able to dominate points as that happens in reality and is a weapon that should be able to be used.

There is no rule about where to stand when returning on TS4, and until it is proven otherwise, standing inside the line is not considered cheesy.

If someone is standing inside the line, a flat serveto the body will probably draw an error.

My main counter to wide slice serves is standing inside the baseline. Standing inside the baseline is not cheesy, easily countered with a flat serve to the body and a perfectly viable solution to people who think they can get by with serving slowly the entire match. If you don't like it because you made a setup with 40 serve? Too bad, deal with your weaknesses.

Please reconsider your complaints.

I don't see anything wrong with it in TS4....I have tried it and smart player will just blast flat serves at your body.

You can get 'Perfect' on these returns and they will still go out most of the time.
