NFL Rule Change

Anyone else absolutely shocked out how ridiculous the new kick off rule changes are?

Sebastian Janikowski kicked it through the goal posts from a kick off.

Barely seen a return go beyond the 20 yard line and the majority are touchbacks.

Is there any way to get this rule change reversed? An online petition?

Roger Goodell is a **** idiot and it angers me he's turning the NFL into flag football.

What happened to 3 Phases of the game? Offense, Defense and SPECIAL TEAMS.

I'm really fuming. Is anyone else?

I don't watch football nowadays but I think it's a bit ridiculous. Football is a dangerous sport...nothing's really gonna change that

Yeah I think this rule change is stupid -- luckily I like college football much more than the NFL anyways. I'll watch any decent college game; for the NFL I usually only watch Panthers games.

I dont know really have a problem with it, if it makes the game safer without completely changing the game then i have no problem with it.

The only problem i see is alot of the guys that are on special teams are only on the team to play on the kickoffs so the new rule might leave a few players out of a job.

Shouldn't this allow the kickers to go for a high kickoff right at the 1 or 2 yard line to stop guys before the 20?

If anything, that would make the kickoffs more dangerous since a returner may not have very much time to get ready for a hit.

Stupid rule change. Also, I live in Philly and would just like to say BOO Eagles for getting Vince Young. We now have 4 "starting running backs," one KIND OF QUARTERBACK, one huge cry baby, and one huge dog killer.

Precisely. It's lose lose.

Those big returns that are so exciting will be rarer. Most kickers can guarantee a touchback and attempting tactical kicking will still kick touchbacks.
The tactical kicks are more dangerous and yes, you're right, many special teams players will lose their jobs because a vital phase is being negated.

Gooodell is just playing with the rules with apparently no care for what the paying fans want to see, knowing that he's guaranteed a pension.

These players aren't afraid of the contact, and these changes don't make the game any safer, just more boring.

I'm so angry about this it's unreal.
