Moralspain wrote:I disagree, but i guess everyone has a different point of view on this, btw he won in 2010 the Stefan Edberg Sportsmanship award voted by the ATP players, but i guess you guys have some theory, conspiracy or whatever to discredit either the award or Rafa himself, so please go ahead, or maybe your opinion is better and the pro players, and they have no idea about what being a fair player is.

For some reason many people think that everything Nadal does, wins, says...is always wrong, but i don't get what he does to be so hated for some people, and i'm not talking about this forum but other tennis forums on the internet.
maybe envy?

Well...Im a pure Roger fan and im not saying anything cause of being envy or something!
like the other 2 guys mentioned, Nadal use some dirty tactics and i feel he is type of player that he does anything( fair or unfair to win a match)
I saw him so many times faking injury when his opponent in on fire, one mentioned the match with del potro, another is Hamburg masters 2008 against Roger, Roger was playing amazing , there was no chance for Nadal atleast not if Roger was going to keep that form, but what happened?! Nadal started faking, leg injury and after a short time out he was back and playing even harder. he did this so many times.
......
another thing is comminucating with his coach in the court which is not allowed. he does it whenever in trouble.
Another thing i remember is his hate-ful face when his opponent win an important point.he looks to his opponent like they made a sin or something.
and the most obvious one is his slow serving games, come on..30-40 sec after each serve? and sometimes even more.
And for Djokovic, i think its clear how disrespectful he is to his opponent.
just watch Roland Garros 2011 sf against Fed, he was like yeah..that shot wasn't bad or ...good, you are not a bad player.
....
anyway , my examples are mostly about their match vs Roger cause those bothered me the most , you can find so many of those examples in other matches.

nothing more to add then, now i understand your words.
I'm a Rafa fan so i could say a lot of things about the cocky Roger, but this would be a never ending discussion between you and me, so let's move on.

man I respect the hell out of rafa as a player but I saw too many time s on tv unlce tony shouting things out at rafa so yes he does get at little on court coaching the injury time outs im not sure some are serious others he could play through the pain but uncle tony coaches him on court from the stands but rafa is one of the big boys so they cant call him on it plus it is only obvious when the camera shows tony nadal but it doesn't change the fact the he is a FUTURE HALL OF FAMER

ok fair enough, btw i didn't use the word "hate", but if you're a Fed fan you have to dislike the player who has beaten your "guy" so many times, it's completely normal, so your thoughts about that player, in this particularly case Nadal, have to be in a bad way

I'm a fan of every fair and respectful player , Nadal is an expressive player , but once the game is finished , he is mature and fair enough to congratulate his opponent. For exp., last wimbledon final he said that:

I played well today but Djoko did everything better than me so he totally deserved the win.

I cant say anything about old times since im 22 and have been watching tennis since 2000 .

Speaking of nowadays,as i said on a early post that it's really good to see the top players , who are an inspiration to all sports/tennis fans are fair and respectful players.
No matter who they are, respect your opponent and support fairplay! God is a lie, religion is the biggest lie ever! I'm not a vegetarian because i dont like meat,i'm a vegetarian because i care about animals!

So basically , the spirit of tennis is and should be to support the player who's trailing for a longer match to enjoy tennis more :)For exp. Eventho i like Lisicki, Bartoli,Fed,Djoko,Nadal,Baghdatis and Tsonga, when theyre playing an easy match , i want their opponents to come back into the match and increase the excitement :)

This is just you making an excuse to a truthful statement.
