(fake) approach shots expert?

Postby SIeeepy » Wed, 13 Jul 2011 19:52

ok. question about the approach shots expert skill. So you know how people tend to hold down the RB modifier like all the time to sprint everywhere and end up doing that fake going to the net move but quickly pull back and stay at the baseline. It's an approach shot right? but they don't go to the net. does that make a difference lol? My question is: is their fake going to the net shot more effective since they have this skill? More precise, more power? idk. I don't think i've ever run into someone with this skill but i feel like if someone were to exploit it, in that it makes your opponents shot less "efficient", that could be trouble. Is this actually true. Sorry, I'm pretty scatter brained and tend to jump all over the place. But does anyone know what im getting at?

Yeah it makes the approach harder and closer to the line. Try it with sampras. Combined with diesel hard hits, if you hit a short ball full power with perfect timing and holding the R1 button it gets absolutely clattered.

I have a player that i use this style with. Yes, it makes your shots just a drop harder to return and more precise. Not more powerful.

But I don't do it on every shot and if you do release the RB in time you can actually get the benefit of the skill without the actual approach move. Just need to find the right timing.
