I am talking about ingame tatics. Tramline serving, excessive drop shots, etc. Its fine to drop shot when you have your oppenent on the run but not every single point or multiple times in a point.

Just a list of whats considered cheesy and and not allowed at ITST. So all of the new players are AWARE of them. Playing that future tournament I was just in was full of tramline serving. I won but that doesn't matter. Its no fun having 20 dueces in a game because he can only get his points off a tramline serve duece side court.

Sorry but I don't think we should regulate drop shots....i mean if a guy has like 50 speed and 39 volley then heck i'm going to drop shot him every chance i get, because its the best option i have with my all arounder. That being said, this isn't really a problem on here, more so on WT but still i would like to have the option to DS as much as i please becaus that is not as unrealistic as having a pro player with 39 volleys

you cant regulate dropshots, anyway. max 2 per gm? what if the gm goes 10 deuces? as long as someone isnt hitting them from behind the baseline all the time or as their desperation shot then i dont see an issue. people will argue and say its not sim...well neither is painting the corners with topspin at will...or warping 5 ft to stab a volley...or hitting a 15 ft high return that sits at the back of the court whenever you want

Exactly lol. I mean if its being done to exploit an opponents weakness then there shouldn't be a problem. I mean if we say that you can't drop shot an opponent to bring them to net then we should also say that you shouldn't be able to constantly hit to your opponet's weaker wing because that is an "unfair" way to try and win the game

You can regulate them by not having a dropshot every damn point. I still win when people do this it just ruins what good be a fun match. I totally understand when you hhave someone on the run and and everything. But when you return a serve and their 1st shot back is a drop shot almost everytime. what the hell is the point of that.

If your opponent drop shots all the time it really isn't that hard to counter. I only have trouble with drop shots when somebody pushes me back with his ground strokes and hits a drop shot when I'm expecting a deep shot (this is how your suppose to use the drop shot, I think) But I agree, it is very boring.

Thats exactly when it should be used. Thats really the only time I use it unless my oppenent like to play way behind the baseline in general. Im not saying its hard to counter. I'm saying it shouldn't be used almost every point because 1)its boring as hell 2)considered cheesy to most and 3) doesn't follow the ITST "honor" code you could say.

I have drop shot as one of my player qualities, and I dont use it every single point but I like to use it when I see my opponent has power in the upper 80´s to a 100, they have invested all of their points to make a very very powerful player, but slow as a turtle.... then I will drop shot them to death not every shot but more than likely will do it every 3 points.

I feel that by limiting a shot then we should limit all the shots, for example:

If we limit the drop shot because Its annoying, then we should limit the volley too, I have played with guys who have made 60 points in the match, 58 of those came from a volley.... so what should we do? Ban the volley?

I feel the importance of SIM and I like the concept, but SIM or not, If you face a hard hitting guy, at full power throwing all his bullets at you, just drop shot him a ball and thats it.

I tend to srop shot also to players who stand 10 feet behind the line and just play catch the ball to every shot I make, one good drop shot after another and they will beging to play close to the baseline, where now they are more vulnerable to an angled shot.

I dont support drop shots in every single point, or to do drop shot returns, or drop shots as soon as the rally starts, I dont support those practices.

amazing post and i agree if they are just gona stand 10 feet behind the basline and get every ball with the overpowered slice then drop shot is perfectly fine
