Slicers and Drop Shotters

Postby mcfed » Tue, 12 Jul 2011 14:14

I have played my first two matches on Xbox Live yesterday and I directly faced two annoying opponents. I don't know what your opinion is, but personally I hate it if people constantly (opponent using Roddick) slice on the lines all the time. OK, Roddick does that as well, but slicing isn't quite difficult in a game.

The other one was using every possibility to hit drop shots, no matter where I stood or where he stood. Luckily I anticipated them so I won most of the points but he didn't stop.

So my question is, what is it like here: are drop shots and many slices welcomed or are they rather hated.
In TS1 I still remember that nobody was using slices because it wasn't a big advantage and drop shots were so easy that most players refrained from using them to have a more interesting match, even if they were touching the net with their stomach.

Just wanted to say that we are going to make a statement about Cheese Tactics and Fair Play in ITST very soon. Both of the points you brought up will be covered. I agree with you, abusing these two reduces the quality of the game and reduces the enjoyment to zero. I understand that many newcomers may not be aware of what "tennis" is or the fact that we ARE trying to immediate it to the best of our abilities within the game's limitations. But we are here to educate! :D

You are the perfect example of a new player and what that new player feels like.
