You know a deep slice ball trough the middle has the same effect? Only easier to excecute.. I'm exactly using that tactic but than with deep, slice balls trough the middle. It's a well known tennis rule to in defend, return your balls trough the middle.
I will slice up the middle against someone who likes to play sharp angles, since it kind of takes that away from them. But against the really powerful guys, I think it's better to try to keep them pinned in a corner so their options are more limited (they almost have to play the ball back crosscourt)- then, once you get a chance, start making them move.
