Powerful shots?

I am quite new to the game and I am trying to learn how to play properly. I wish if someone could tell me how to perform the hard corner shots that people do online? There are people who make so powerful shots perfectly cornered that even touch the line sometimes. I have tried control shots, top spin shots, slice, everything but nothing gives me the same results I am up against. Could someone enlighten me what am I missing here?

Its all about timing and making sure your in the right position

First, how can someone be on the right position with perfect timing every shot when the connection lags? Second, should I use power shots or control shots?

I am no expert at this game by a long long shot but what I find that works best is to not hold in the power button until the ball comes to you but try and judge it so as the ball is coming to you the little circle has just went full if you get me.

Same goes with the pointing of the directional button
