"Becker-Dive" in TS4? Yes!!!

Postby Saarbrigga » Sun, 12 Jun 2011 17:56

Just played vs. Moralspain...he was Becker, i was Rafter.

I was able to do about 3-4 dives...simply by pressing the red B button.

1) Someone here who did dives as well?

2) Is Rafter the only player who can do it?

3) Can any player with volley 89+ do it?

Cheers

Play enough S&V, and you get kind of sick of the dives - they're way over done.

i think its only for guys with spectactular volley skill.

And of course...when you play with Becker alot(at the net), he will often perform his very own dive.(btw the only time in 2k Open my opponent isn't clicking away the slow motion, everyone wants to see the becker dive). Usually comes along with a "Becker Fist" performed by myself(only available for Players with "Monster Cheering Berserk") and a long "yeeesss" to let everyone in the next 200m around my appartment know that i did a phenomenal, awesome play with Becker!

It is the spectacular volley skill.

You can have 100 on volleys and you won't do the dive if you don't have that skill -- that skill opens up new animations for volleys.

Yes, yes they are

I remember when we played your Sampras was just diving ALL OVER THE PLACE.

So many times I was sitting there thinking "WTF"

longer reach i.e. more height and reflexes help when you stretch you cover more net and so when you lung you get deeper volley that gives you more time but still the slow recoveries can still a be a pain every so often

It definitely has an effect on serving, IMO.

With a short character, your sprite is smaller so where the guy holds the ball is lower....so his toss is lower than a bigger sprite (why am I calling them sprites hahaha this is 2011), so you have less room to work with for aiming short angles . that's what it seems like to me.

lol sprites. That is a 90's term. 2000's term is avatar. What is it now for the 10's?

Anyways, are you sure you aren't imagining this? I haven't tested it at all, so I am really asking.

I have to say that those dives are cool at giving your oponnent a surprise ,and almost stearing trough his monitor at his "no way! " face

But on once they expect it , it is usueless lol

I tried this once in RL and almost busted my head , so I didnt try again haha , i rather lose the point , you guys think the recovery is slow in game ? Imagine while rubbing your elbow haha
