me neither

im talking about "super slow" serves....like the 73mph on the line serve

Me too.

The only serves I really have trouble with are 130mph bombs that are perfectly placed, or someone who really mixes their serves well and keeps me guessing.

Oh, and the occasional slice up the middle that completely fools me, so I end up moving the wrong way - those are kind of embarrassing.

i guess really what im trying to say is on the serves. now after the update its almost like you can only return the serve at the speed it was delivered...for instance i give a 128 mph outwide on the ad side and i see it go just as fast down the line(of course this is like real life where you use your opponents pace) but, then you give the same serve at 73mph and my opponent very rarely is able to get a hold of it and it usually comes back at a very slow speed...so why not use the slower serve? i am almost never using the faster serve ever anymore, except for a change up...which it should be the other way around and use the slow serve as a change up...some things on this game are completely bass ackwards

Use customs. Pros are generally on steroids, on all shots and situations.

Sounds like it's another custom player bug, like the wrong foot glitch? Can this be duplicated in offline matches? Or do I have to play WT, hoping to run into some cheeser, to see it for myself?

I do remember having trouble with slow serves at one time, but then I changed the way I return and they're no longer a problem. Maybe there's just a technique for returning them properly?

Truer words never spoken. Pointless to add UE stat to the game when there's less than 20 UEs in a 5 set match sometimes. I'm just disheartened b/c this game could be great w/ some tweaks, but the flaws are coming through the more I play this game.

You know itst is partially responsible for the neutering we see in TS4. People here complained a lot about risk shots and power in TS3. I will agree that the game needed tweaking to give defenders more of a chance so not everyone is a power monger. But now TS4 is just way too far in the other direction. This game encourages defense over anything else. If you want to play aggressively the game practically penalizes you for it. Honestly, that imo will just turn ppl away, cuz I'd wager people enjoy hitting flashy winners more than they do playing endless rallies. If they wanted that they could play virtua tennis. Honestly if 2ksports doesn't patch the game and fix the ps3 world tour I'm just going quit this game.

djarvik wrote:We once again arrive to the point were I say: Tennis is about taking risks. Can you take risks in TS4?

How can anyone who ever played real tennis for more then 3 minutes can call risk shots unrealistic is beyond me.

Djarvik, the idea of risk is genius. As someone who is a frequent tournament tennis player, I know you are right. However, IMO, the way it was implemented in TS3 was extremely poor. I feel that if the idea of risk was put in the format given by TS4 then the game would be perfect. I think it would be easy. All they'd have to do is make the timing more important on every shot. Poorly timed shots would go in 15-20 percent of the time. Shots that are "Too Soon" would go in 40-50 percent of the time (depending on the difficulty of the shot). Shots that are "good" go in 85% of the time. Shots that are "Excellent" go in 95% of the time. This is just a very preliminary idea, but i think its far more effective than having a Risk button.

I agree, they were just listening carefully to what many wanted on this very forum as you said. The community wanted alot nerfed and got it - now its just about moaning enough to get them to change it back abit before everyone quits due to endless rallies (Didn't someone warn of that before? lol)

That is an incredibly bad idea. Count the percentage of shots you hit in a match that fall under each category. For the average player it would basically translate into about 40-50% of their shots going out. Really? You want 1 out of every 2 shots you hit to go out? :?
