No, there is no way I can format my hard drive, just too much hassle. It works fine when I sign in with a different profile, but then I cant play online, lose my game saves and have to start my career again anyway.

I presume I have a corrupt file saved within my profile but I don't know what it is. It worked fine one day but not the next. I deleted everything I'd installed in that 24 hour period but I still get the same thing, I don't know what else to try.

Any ideas peoples??

Xbox freezes

Postby symbiot911 » Wed, 01 Jun 2011 05:40

The only way I could get around the problem was by creating a new profile and starting over again. Luckily I wasn't far into my career but there seems to be nothing more that can be done. It's a pain, but I'm assuming my original profile was corrupted by the patch and there was simply no other way around the problem that I could find anyway.

You could completely delete your profile, and then recover it from Xbox Live.

I will only do this as a last resort. I was into the fifth year of my career, most of the objectives complete, 94% of the game unlocked. That is about 20 odd hours of gameplay... I really don't want to have to play through that again.

No I have only played on my xbox, which I bought brand new at christmas, so no issue there. I put the game in as per usual one day and it froze on me without explanation, I can't remember if I was after an update or not.

This seems like a good idea. Will I not lose all my existing game saves though?

I also have three other characters which I sometimes use for online play, I was using one when it all went tits-up, i'll delete those and keep the the 'experienced' guy saved... see if that makes any difference.

I'm not sure if you lose your game saves or not. I think it gives you an option when you delete a profile (something like "Do you also want to delete saved game data associated with this profile?").

You could always back them up to a thumb drive to be safe.
