Trust me, 'counter shot' is a good skill once you realize how/when to use it.

It only works on balls that are coming really fast to you, it's not activated unless the incoming ball is moving a certain speed.

You have to hit a 'good' or 'perfect' control flat shot off a powerful groundstroke from the other person.

Yep, it's basically a rally changer when used at the correct moment. I've hit many winners or taken control of and gone on to win many points using this skill. Once you do it a few times, I think it also makes your opponent a little nervous to go for the power shot.

@Mack: This might be a great skill for you to incorporate into your game. I think it would fit very well for a defensive counterpuncher.

It only works when your opponent hit a max power flat shot, with perfect timing finesse shot.

I created some players inside these limits and I realy want to put them to test against "well-intentioned" payers. I started playing on-line just yesterday and played against 3 guys with the MD/TI setup.

The only one that I was winning turned of the game...

So, If anyone give me a chance, my PSN ID is rcafilho21 :D

See ya!!!

SIGH 3 of my players are now banned 2 of which i think are balanced. What is wrong with instant rocket md guy.and my ti ps guy. Serious overreaction. Why not just ban coaches, not skills?

You will regret this with all power guys coming out to own.

Let´s Test

Postby Neso007 » Sat, 28 May 2011 12:33

Hi PerfectAce!

You can add me too ! I must test my new player. MY PSN-ID is Neso007

By the way:

can someone explain me how some player can hit insane banckhand angles and drop shots with a backhand of 74 or lower ? i just managed to play the 2k open and my opponent hit always insane short and flat angels with djokovic right to the line with his backhand even if i hit perfect slices, powershots or top spins to the middle of the court ! he even did drop shots when i hit a perfect flat power shot and the drop shot landed right behind the net...never saw this before..how did he manage to do that ?

To address the Power "problem". Is there one? ...likely. There is one in ATP as well

If you want to compare Top Spin to ATP, you have to compare everything.

In ATP, power isn't a problem, cause having a powerful game means taking a lot of risks.

Just look at the Nadal-Isner stats, and particulary Isner's:

1st serve: 68 %
Unforced erros: 58
Average speed 1st serve: 128 mph
Average speed 2nd serve: 101mph

Ok cool.

Now compare them to a Top Spin player who should have a 0/20/0 build. It looks something like:

1st serve: 90 %
Unforced erros: 5
Average speed 1st serve: 125 mph
Average speed 2nd serve: 125mph

Lol ?

So, please, don't compare ATP and Top Spin. Top Spin 4 will never be a simulation game. You could tell me about the balancing update (are they still working on ?), but 2k won't change all the gameplay, not before TS5.

I am not a soothsayer, but I think the number of people using powerful build (FH/BH 80 - PWR 80+ - SPE 60- ) will really be amazing.

This is a terrible comparison. Jon Isner would not be the example of a guy with 8- FH/BH - 80+ PWR. That sounds a lot more like Marat Safin to me. And while no one of any rank or player type in the ATP will serve 100% 125 mph first serves, it is a video game. But Jon isner is a bad comparison you're making, cause his backhand is terrible and his forehand is streaky at best. He is his serve.

And if you want to look at the 0/20/0 build (which i just started using btw :) ) this build isn't similar to Isner either, much more like Del Potro, or Berdych, or Soderling if you ask me. And if the game gives Roddick 91 pwr, i think by default berdych, soderling, and del po's power would be verrrry close to 100 were they on the game. just sayin

Yeah lets everyone use instant rocket/passing shot coach skill! Everyone now use this style which is better than anyone else...

I dont agree with these rules...Unfair

HAHAHA that's exactly what I said was gonna happen...that a new skill-set would simply 'replace' TI/MD and that everybody would use it...

Yeah but remember we no longer have to listen to you.

I definitely don't see this being a problem. It's a good alternative but not the best one out there. Only seen one person use it. I wouldn't worry Jay. You'll be wrong again. :)

Same here. Lost so far only to one IR/PS guy and he was a very good player. He was just better. It is one of a few strong setups currently. I acutally have much harder time playing agains high speed and strokes builds. Power doesnt bother me that much.

I don't mind plaing IR/PS so much, just be ready to play some defense. One tough one is TS/LB.

 I have one of these. He may not be able to score winners as TSI/MD...but this setup is a better defending setup and once you keep the point going for 5-6 shots, you can execute a mean Top Spin short shot to get ahead in the rally and take control.

You need to end a points fast against this one. He does not have enough power or high strokes, but let him hang in the rally for few shots and its over.

What is IR/PS? Do you mean instant rocket/crushing passing shot? '

PS: Is there an error on till69's calculator? It has two gold coaches with instant rocket/crushing passing shot.
