anybody watching the match (Madrid)??, at the moment 5-2 up Feli in the final tie-break, Feli is playing awesome, really, Roger is playing well but Feli is just doing an amazing stuff, hitting winners with top spin backhand, you know he uses to slice his bh but today is hitting winners with his top spin bh........just missed a smash to 6-2 up, honestly i've watched the whole match and TODAY he deserves beating Roger

He really could have put the smash anywhere and he missed it by a mile. He has served great though and hit his groundies really strong.

Federer claims it in the end though.

Federer wins the tie-break (8-6) and the match, i use to say that in tennis the one who wins the match is the one who deserved but honestly today Feli played awesome, couldn't play a better match, but many times the top ten guys manage these situations better and win the crucial points, gladly surprised with Feli tough.

Yeah I have to say, that's probably the best I've ever seen Lopez play. I mean, everyone knows he can serve like a demon when he's on but you never really see him hit clean winners so regularly off both wings. As far as I remember, his backhand was mainly slice and defend but I was surprised to see him hitting hard winners off it today. Pity about the smash in the final tiebreak though... that was truly horrible and probably spoiled what was a great match for him. Federer's a lucky boy tonight!

Definately could be a threat at wimby espeically if he can keep this form up, but you know this loss will take some time to get over .

That is a very big 'if'. He's always been a very streaky player who can't hold on to good form well. Often plays one great tournament and comes back the next couple of weeks like he's forgotten what it feels like to win a match! Whenever he is on though, he's always a threat to even the top players on a faster surface.

is know one going to give fed credit for toughing the match out they say fed doesn't know how to win matches like today the opponent playing out of his mind and you ok and still win if this was rafa or nole we would hear how mentally tough they are if it's fed oh the other choked dnt forget fed saved match point with an a ace. anyway that was a big win for win having had some many chances im matches this yr and losing told he won today could be a turning point

Its not that we are not giving fed credit, its that we expect this out of fed. It sorta has become routine for him to tough out the match when the opponent is playing really well and he is ok.

we have been spoiled by him doing it so much in the past that its expect fed will win most of the close matches that he is in.

Yep exactly, we take it for granted, but he pulls improbable wins out of his ass on a semi-regular basis.

Murray pulls out improbable losses against nobodies...

And Gulbis pulls out probable no-shows at key moments in his career.
