Not sure about the The Time Nutter, but the other two Xbox tournaments seem to be won by players using this setup.

I've played quite a few exhibition matches with Anil so far and he always wins with the following scorelines;
6-2 6-1
6-1 6-1
6-1 6-0

Suffice to say, I am struggling to win games against him as he is too good for my level. Tonight, I thought I would change my player a bit and see what would happen..Anil wins again but only just with a 1-6 7-6 6-1 scoreline. In fact, I lead 6-1 5-3 and had 2 matchpoints at 6-5 in the 2nd set. It is crazy how simply changing my traits to ts invasion/monster defense completely transformed my player into an overpowered topspin machine.
Just goes to show that these traits are making average players look much much better than they actually are and that is not a good thing. At least in TS3 you had to learn how to time risk shots to be truly effective. TS4 is making it all far too easy.

so drarvik , why not make the only TS4 rule right now not to have the chinese couch ? it would be a nice test to see how it would affect the tournemant and also it would allow the game developers in these forums to see where the next OP build would be , or if it would be the all time fix?

I just played some TI/MD guy in direct match and lost 3-0, only winning one point the entire match. Then I switched to a TI/MD character and ended up playing the same guy again and easily beat him 3-0. That coach is very overpowered.

You can't blame it on the coach alone.
If you are a player that uses top spin shots most of the time that coach simply complements your style and makes you stronger.

If on the other hand you prefer power shots or whatever, this coach won't help you that much.
Its just a matter of how you play, to each his own i guess. I don't mind playing against it at all.

The only thing that you could criticize is, that a coach with a skill combination of TI/MD should not have additional 50 points to distribute.
Maybe 30-40.

Just my opinion, thats all.

I agree. Ti/md makes good players great.

It's no coincidence that the majority if the top players in wt are using this set up. It's gives you an advantage. Another example of the poor balancing.

It's not against the rules of itst, but people who win with these set ups are not going to get much respect.

I'd much rather 2k balance this (or remove the coach all together), other wise we,ll all players using this set up.

I won a PS3 challenger using 4 different setups (one match with TI/MD, quarter-finals, I think...)

ita doesn't use TI/MD and he does well so it can't be that good. I'll make one now.

Well, the short answer is this: If you take away one coach, the next in line will be more powerful and complaints will be directed towards this one.

When balancing players and coaches, the key is to make sure your changes are not drastic. I mean yeah, this setup is ahead of others...but removing it will only cause another setup to rise.

In order for it to property balance itself, I think this coach needs adjustment from 2K. Maybe a decrease in Strokes and total attributes. 50 is a bit much, maybe making it a 35 coach will do the trick. She will still be strong, but not that strong.

The idea behind that coach is that player using him starts slow, and as the rally progresses the player gains advantage. So, power players and SV should have the most success against this build. I bet most people who lose to them have either a medium power or are other, weaker types of Defensive baselines.

Maybe even an adjustment on "when" the Top Spin Invasion kicks in and how much better your shots get will work. Sorta it should start on 5th shot of the rally and increase by 5% accuracy per shot.

Something along these lines.

Hey guys !

I'm new here and I have to say I agree with the overpower of TI/MD coach...

When I played tennis IRL I basicaly was a defencive player, running every where... So my character in TS4 is defencive ...
I can perform well against powerfull player but I was totally helpless against player with TI/MD...
So I did a lot of experiment and I think I've found a way to counter those guys.

I played 6 matches against TI/MD and lost only two. Let me be clear, I'm not a top player, so against player with a level far better than me, I'm still helpless

My setup is something like that (I don't have the stats in mind)
FH : 97
BH : 77
Service : 54
Volley: 44
Power : 55
Stamina: 89
Speed : 87
Reflex : 54

I use a coach with Drop shot artist and a bonus that makes you better on important points (I don't know the english translation 'cause I'm french)

Basically when the guys try to play short crosses I end this loosing partern with a drop shot. Of course I'm still trying to mix my shots but the drop shots seem to be very effective against those guys when you have a perfect timing.
It's still very difficult to manage TI/MD players but with this setup I managed to won few matches instead of loosing every time against them.

Let me know your results if you try it.

Cya !

Ps: Thanks to setheleh who is a very fairplay opponent and who tells me about this website :)

I refuse to change my gamestyle just because TI/MD is overpowered. 2K has to balance this. Online is nearly unplayable b/c of the TI/MD factor. For me it's unbeatable. I like to actually construct points and not just hit one button to win. Playing TI/MD they just use topspin and win every match. It's bull sh....

2 tournaments, 2 TI/MD. That's it I'm done playing this game online until 2k balances this crap.
