Top spin 4: a bad joke

Postby marlonbrando91 » Tue, 12 Apr 2011 22:42

Hi everybody.

I was a a good TS3 player i think.And i was expecting TS4 like others fans.

Ive played quite a lot for give my opinion.

This game is just boring and absolutely desastrous.

Really please all neutral fans will be agree.

-Just one form on the serve

-Lack of form on the shots backhand and forehand

-Near impossible to hit unforced errors

-Tennis pourcentage absolutely unrealistic

-footwork so strange and player on a videogame backfoot in the rally

-and most of all boring to play

-Serve and volley impossible with fly return

All the players who were good to TS3 know what i mean.In TS3 we played crazy game and rallys with so variety.

Im looking for back to TS3, everybody who wants play again at a real game, im here for match to TS3.

Thx

Marlon

I feel u Marlon.

I think the most recent update did improve things somewhat. Dpad functionality being restored was definitely good. I still find the movement lacking and at times illogical and there definitely needs to be more animations added to player creator especially for the guys.

Lets hope the actual patch will make TS4 a worthwhile successor to TS3. I'm glad that 2k seems to be listening!

Well, just because you're not as good as you were in TS3, does not mean that TS4 is a bad game.
Right now I'm doing well in TS4, in TS3, I was not that great, I was average or a little below, so right now I'm pleased with TS4.

Well it does seem to be the case that most of the upper echelon of TS3 are not liking TS4. I know I definitely have issues with TS4, its just much less refined than TS3.

Well this new star you're referring to, and so far u r not it...

Would hopefully not want to dominate a clearly flawed game. If that's not u, then u or anyone else can have the number 1 spot as far as I'm concerned!

No dpad compatibility was ridiculous, thank goodness 2k fixed it. The limited service and ground stroke animations is clearly a flaw. The illogical movement etc etc...

If you or someone else would want the game to stay inferior just because u r good at it is just plain wrong!

2k has heard the concerns and they have and are making changes ...

^^^^And TS3 was not flawed?? Please all the Top Spin games have had flaws. Its just a matter of which you do not mind as much. Just because your not as good and someone else is at one version doesnt make them better at a more flawed game. It is what it is.

TS3 is a fantatstic sim game, just needed change somethings , and many of us were expecting an improved TS3, but we have found a diferent game, there are many good ideas in TS4, but in the practice don't work very well,

I feel you marlon. I've stopped playing completely and am in the process of selling my ps3. I think that the ship has sailed for a real sim like game like TS3. I can say it was a blast while it lasted for sure. Most don't want a realistic game. So it is what it is. At least I can be more productive in real life now. There is always real tennis! :) I'll still pay attention to the site and maybe chime in. In a way it's kind of a relief to not feel so compelled to play a video game as soon as I get home!

I was mostly kidding.... it's tempting though.

Plus I could probably sell it back to you for $200 when the next must-have game is released. :P

Why so arrogant?
I just meant in general "a new star" and how do you know, maybe I will be a good player in TS4 :P But anyways, some things are weird yeah, but don't pretend TS3 did not have its flaws. You should be happy that they patched it because in TS3 there were no patches, except the one to remove the 5 min creating character bug.

Arrogant is to suggest someone stop playing TS4 just because they mention flaws they feel should be addressed in the game.

I came to TS3 and itst late. I was going to start a thread about TS3s beginnings and if there were alot of issues as with TS4. If its true that TS3 never had any real patches, then that speaks to how polished the game truly was right from the get go, unlike TS4.

Yes its is true that TS3 is not perfect, I had issues with the whole risk system, but TS3 was a great game overall especially the PS3 version! TS4 definitely has some interesting concepts and good potential. However, the execution is lacking and needs further refinement which we are seeing from 2k. I'm glad they are continuing the development.

You should be glad too...

TS3 was not nearly as unrefined as TS4 is now! Hence TS3 didn't have any patch for gameplay...

Obviously the developers themselves felt the need to update TS4!
