forfeiting all cheesers

Postby Capriatifan » Sat, 09 Apr 2011 11:02

There, I've completely had it with all those online cheesers. From now on every time I play someone who has 95 serve/power stats and who only scores with aces and plays no rallies, or players who only slice outwide and finish with a big power forehand or backhand, or the ridiculous topspin beserkers who only hit every single shot with completey unrealistic and game killing angles I will forfeit every single match I play. For me this game is about fun, I don't care if I win or lose, i'd rather lose a game against someone who really plays a varied game with cool rallies than win against one of the above mentioned kind of player. I must say against ITST players Ive only played fun games so far, but Ive run into too many players who kill the game, even though ive won about half of those game I don't have any fun and I am no longer gonna waste my time against these people. I really hope 2K will fix the gameplay, so that not every single point is being constructed in the same boring way;

* Make stickserving WAY more difficult and implement REAL, even harder to pull off 2nd serves.
* get rid of the too extreme stupid deucecourt outwide slice serve.
* Topspin angles have to be reduced and made pretty much impossible to hit if the player is under big pressure, make it at least a low percentage shot.

* Stamina should have a real influence on the game; if the bar is empty you should be much slower and make more unforced errors and have less power. Also once 2K fixes and it actually affects gameplay the bar should not run empty so quickly after a 7 or 8 shot rally, but gradually during a match depending on how much miles you make and how hard you hit. It also should not fill up so quickly again
* Speedrating should have more influence; now players with 50 speed can still get to way too many balls, this, together with the low influence reflex and staminapoints have right now, makes that too many people spend all their points on serve/power/fore and backhand.

Surely that works to their advantage though. If you forfeit everytime you meet one of these players, you're actually encouraging them. Most people playing online care more about winning so give them easy wins and they'll keep using these characters. Also, others will see them winning a lot and take up the cause too.

What I do agree with is the second serve thing though. Definitely not realistic at all. They should limit the second serve so that you can't hit it as powerful as a first serve would ever be. Irl, you would wait for second serve chances against big servers but in this game everyone can just bomb two first serves in everytime with little cost. The resolution isn't really making it harder to pull off a second serve but limiting what you can do with one.

i find the short top spin angles unrealistic, which you can do 99% of time, there should be risk involved in it. i think the ITST match and tournament winners will be great servers with top spin short angles (top spin invasion). i dont see other possibilities in top level competition. :?

i made a guy who can attack the net and hold the service games well enough, but still winning return games is impossible against serve/topspin angles with invasion, doesnt matter where you return the ball, he can still create crazy angles

I don't care if I encourage them, I am playing for myself, not for them. Sure I could play on and beat some of them, but I don't have any fun in doing so, I'd rather quit the match and look for someone who actually loves the game of tennis.

Then you should probably not play the online modes in the game because you're bound to run into plenty of those types of people. Be better off for you to find friends to play with who you can count on to not use the styles you hate and have fun matches with them.

If there a bad bad cheeser, I just quit now too. Because I could care less about world tour ranking or wins or loss. Its about having fun, and if its not fun, then why play. I have quit matches that I was winning, because out cheesing a cheeser just is not that much fun to me anymore. My time is too precious to waste on cheesers. If they need the win that bad have at it, its not like there is a prize or money at stake lol

You'd definitely be encouraging the f**k outta me, I love making people quit in any game

Not that it happens all the time or something cuz it doesn't, but when it does, it's like "wow...really?"

would you quit if you weren't behind the safety of an internet connection??? For real, be honest. Cuz I mean...who quits IRL...5 year olds??

what works against slice servers is make sure you return a perfect timed ball and hit it deep with top spin , I mean deep deep , If you goes long then you are close , vary from one side to the other , preferably down the line but if you want to trow him off then hit deep angle cross court or deep into the corner , most players don't like volleying so if they stay back there and chase the big loop shot then it gives you time to reset , beware of the the next shot which may be a wrong foot or away from you .

Basically is a 2 shot lucky draw to reset the point and neutralize it .

It is bs but it is the only thing I have found to semi work so far .

I find the wide slice to be the easiest to return, as long as they don't stand wide when they hit it.

Just mix up flat, down-the-line, with short-angled topspin. As long as you are in the right position, and time it correctly, it's hard for them to cover both shots.
