I had it with my first round tournament opponent yesterday afternoon. I also had it with Norberto but he solved it by restarting his xbox a week ago. That might help you as well.

For me personally i noticed i had a strict nat as i purchased a new router not that long ago. That was probably bothering me and my opponent last night. Perhaps that is the case for you as well?

Strict NAT causes that, yes.
Never underestimate the pain of a person, because in all honesty, everyone is struggling. Some people are just better at hiding it than others.

Yes, usually it is a case of one of the players having a strict NAT and the other having a public NAT. The player with a strict NAT needs to change it.

On your PS3 go to setttings. Then to Network settings and perform the Internet Connection Test. When the test is finished you will see your NAT type. If it is Type 3 you have a strict NAT and you should try to open it.

Here is a detailed description on how to do this:

I guess the best thing to do is see if you know someone in your personal surroundings that has some experience in this who can help you out.

I have had this problem a few times now and as far as I know both me and the different opponents have nat open. I have never had this problem when inviting a party to the game session. But I haven't tried inviting the same person without being in a party, so I don't know if its a solution or not. But maybe...

Any way out of this?
Tried to play Monza 1st round today with no luck. I checked my NAT and it's type 3. I have tried everything - port-forwarding, DMZ, UPNP, with different combinations - nothing seems to take NAT to type 2.

I had no problems with other games, and with TS4 in World Tour, having played around 40 games in total. Is this the end of ITST career for me? :(

I would like to bump this. This is still an issue and last night when trying to play a match in the Johannesburg challenger on 360 this occured. We did not succed in solving the situation.

I know I have NAT set to open and have manually opened all ports that need to be open. I usually have no problem connecting to opponents.

Anyone have any ideas?
