Lets talk about Stamina- POLL

Postby stoutman111 » Tue, 29 Mar 2011 14:53

Do you think stamina should count for more or be more important in this game? Just want to get thoughts on it. I have mentioned in some other topics that i feel it is being slightly forgotten and could be implemented to carry more weight.

I think this is going to be the most one-sided poll ever.

I voted "no". If it has more of an effect, it'll kill S&V.

hmm didnt think about that. I still didnt make a SV player so i didnt experience this setup.
However i noticed that the RB button is a real stamina sucker... much more than the effect it delivers. So afterall my unwanted-"no" may reflect that.

As a follow up and to Tenjin as well, if 2K can smooth out the movement it shouldn't be that big of an issue. The response to get your player to the net needs to be quicker. Given if you're a SV the points are much shorter, doesn't your stamina recover faster that way?

Normally after 2 or 3 shot rallies my stamina meter's always in the green.

It takes too much stamina getting to net I think. TS3 was the same, and I always thought it was backwards - S&V shouldn't be a stamina drainer. You might be right though, about your stamina recovering quickly enough.

I disagree about getting to net quicker though. I almost always make my first volley inside the service line. If you got to net any quicker, S&V would be too strong imo. If you're getting to net slow, you're probably holding RB too long - you need to release it as soon as you hit the serve or approach.

ooh ok. I was wondering if I had to hold it after the shot. I'll keep that in mind... and I agree about the speed thing. Thinking about it now it's fine the way it is. Just the lateral delay that's killin me.

Once again, problem lays with distribution of point to OFB.

OFB gets - Power, Serve and Stamina.

SV doesn't get enough stamina.

That should fix it.

But stamina in itself is not giving enough of the effect. I can run all day with low stamina using slices and top spins. Only flat shots get somewhat riskier.

I agree. yeah the problem is a 20 shot rally you are going to be tired. 2 things are typically going to happen. Your going to slow down- so your speed should slow down if you have low stamina and your bar gets low.

The other thing that happens is that your going to make an error.

Also toward the end of a set you typically are a little more tired so maybe your stamina bar should be 75% full or maybe your speed drops 5 levels. I really just think if your stamina bar is gone or really low it should effect your speed. bottom line.

But in real life stamina effects everything (ever so slightly). It may effect how hard you hit your serve later in matches too. I wish they would account for all this. The way it is now is a guy with 40 stamina can run around like the energizer bunny all match no problem.

I HOPE THE FEEDBACK HERE GETS TO 2K AND MAYBE APPLY A SMALL PATCH/UPDATE.
