Patterns (according to Bud):

► Murray should have definitely won a GS title already with his record. Big choker and/or underachiever in the important tournaments??

► Check out Borg's career record... mighty impressive when looking at Federer/Nadal!

► Nadal's percentage is higher than Sampras

► Roddick is a major overachiever who definitely maximized his talent!

► Chang was an even larger overachiever than Roddick. Fairly low success over top 10 and never reached #1... but won a GS title

► Kriek deserves the over-overachiever award. He possesses an anemic 23% win percentage over top 10 opponents while also winning 2 GS titles!

ahhhh but that's the beauty, the comparasing done solely withing the era, not between them. The format didn't charge as far as Top 10. Top 10 best players are always the strongest.

I actually thing this is a VERY good indicator.

but that is the thing! It is really irrelevant what level was back then. They played their "own" top 10 and the results are based on that.

Borg retired at age 23-24. Would his stats have been as impressive as some of the others who played closer to age 30 and over?

Edit: He was age 25 in his last full season on tour.

actually after checking those stats again i find them very interesting.
Tsonga will do something great in a near future, he has problems when playing the first rounds,he just needs to have a better mentality, be very focus, same as Marcus, in the other hand Soderling, Verdasco can't play well in the final rounds (supposedly against top 10 guys, i guess).

thats a good point- but we never will know this .
in fact he leads this statistic now

I can confidently say now that Verdasco will not win a GS. He should just stop trying.

in theory no, you can't keep that level during all your career, i can promise you Nadal won't be winning 3 Grand Slams per year when he's 30, well actually he will be retired
