His initial reaction - when foot touches chest - is the true reaction to being hit. What happens next (gaping mouth and piercing scream) is 100% Hollywood.

Still can't get over how much diving/embellishing there is in football.

I don't have any experience in being kicked in the chest, but I think if the kick was hard enough he would have either been stunned or knocked unconscious. I don't think it would make you scream in agony.

Not buying that for one second.

Maybe it hurt, but it didn't hurt that much. The players behave like two-year-olds when they're tripped/kicked.

Pathetic.

rather impressive if a kick to the chest would knock you unconcious, that would have to be a very very very hard kick

Does it matter? Whether it actually made him scream or not still makes it a hit. I don't think him screaming in pain would have made a difference at all, if it was supposed to be a foul it would be a foul, whether he screamed or not.

Being kicked in the chest like that was enough to kill him, easily, he probably has a few broken/bruised ribsm if anything he under-reacted

It would definitely knock the wind out of you, and that can definitely knock you out. I think anyways.

It would have to cause massive internal trauma to knock you out, but it would definatly knock the wind out of you

De Jong should be suspended for quite a while because of this foul....

Please take him off our hands :?.

de jong is a hard foughting player.i know him very good from his time playing by hamburger sv(now he changed to mancity)
same than van bommel . i think de jong want not kill alonso . i guess... lol

you need this kind of player -its sad but truei
mean de jongs foul was a dark red card .
the english refere saw it different.
a wrong decision but alonso could play forward without injuring

btw: you can´t kill nobody with this kick.!
breaking ripps ?? yes
hard injurings??yes of course

but to kill someone with a kick you must kick him with full power into his cervical neck
or into the "magical triangle " .
everything else isn´t possible to kill with a front kick

back to football ,nigel de jong didn´t want kill alonso.
he just said : till here and no step forward "
mean thats wrong ,but thats football.
after this action ,alonso had very much respect before the holland "double 6"

also van bommel had deserved a red card in my opinion.

funny thing is that after the match the dutch players complaint about the referee !!
as i heared that i had to laugh directly -
to complain about the referee is just....just....ridicolous ,no?

agreed, i wouldn't want to be kicked like that in the chest though hehe...

btw goa, how are numbers distributed commonly in germany (if it changes at all) here they are like this
-------1
4---2---6---3
-------5--------
8-------------11
-------10-------
---7-----------
----------9

because i saw you wrote something about holland's "double 6" while talking about van bommel and de jong...which here it's called double 5...

were you talking about the players??

It matters cause he is trying to make it look worse than it is. Obvious foul here, but that's not usually the case.

Fact is, grown men grimace and clench their teeth when they experience pain - maybe drop a few f-bombs - they don't scream for their mommy.
