Lets try and iron this one out...

Risking is fine to a degree and adds a decent element to the game, in moderation. I know I use LT during certain points and very occassionally hit with LT+RT to mix it up. That is just my preference.

However the point of my post is that risking 100% of the time, i.e. EVERY SHOT is just sorry tennis, no fun, unless you have 2 big riskers playing each other I guess. From my experience of playing on ITST for the last year, there are only 3 players who fall within this category and one of whom I obviously mentioned in this post.

Someone further up the thread said something along the lines of "if you can gain an advantage by risking every time then why not play every shot a risk to win". Well I know I have one heck of a kick serve with the stick, a lot of players tell me after the match they srtuggle with hit. However I do not play on that to give an advantage - I flat serve both sides, kick serve and slice serve. I do not want to be a one dimensional winning machine, it gives me no pleasure - but it obviously does to other players, so be it....

Y'know, I'm inclined to agree, Baghdad.

If you're going to risk all the time and you're making a good amount of them, I have no problem with that. The people I can't stand playing against are the ones who just use me as risk shot practice - the ones who hold both triggers down constantly and miss everything left and right. It takes me completely out of the game because everything is either a winner or goes out/hits the net.

I say save that junk for the CPU.

I was sorta of wondering why you were so angry about the constant (double trigger) risking, and now i understand.

Sim is not meant for this, 90% outwide serves, and constant double trigger risking, do it all you want on the 90 40 tour, but lets have a good clean sim tour :D

We all just want some good rallies.

Hey dude,

Let me guess, noberto.

I just saw the scoreline, that is potentially one of the weirdest scorelines ever, 6-7, 6-0 6-0, 7-6. Did you throw in the towel in the 2nd & 3rd or he just risk the little white pants off you?

Man I don't want people to join my little club that I got going on in my head about 100% double trigger / out wide slice serving but its nice to know that it frustrates the hell out of other people too - although I am sorry that you had a stinking match I.e. nil rallies + nil fun

well he broke me early in both sets, i didnt want him to get into a rhythm and his serve was on fire so i used weak serves to try and get his timing off for my final push and it almost worked he was making some errors in the fourth set.

Norberto im not taking anything away from you, you obviously deserved the win, i just wanted some more rallies and sim like match

Never I thought I would ever find myself retiring from an ITST tournament match, however I did. Trailing 6-4 to EPOX.

I already made my feelings clear. My enjoyment is being killed, period. I wish I could get over it but I can't. The 15th drop shot at 30-0 to me on serve at 6-4 0-0 did it for me.

I think it must be a case of chalk and cheese with the two of us, and other player combinations on the tour must be fine. Now I was trailing 1 set against Puttu in RG QF and battled it back - a great player and match. Then the same with Illuv, another great player and intense match. Again trailing 1 set behind and took the next 3.

But vs EPOX, I just can't bring myself to play, to continue. I guess I was hoping the style might of changed of bit but that is unfair and naive of me. I know its me who has the problem, not EPOX. I am just so much of a SIM lover and fair play that it is distorting my sense of reality - because at the end of the day, as people say, its only a video game.

EPOX, if you are listening, do an old chap a favour and if there are two tournaments on at the same time (e.g. 250) please enter a different one to me (I know thats unreasonable but its what I wish for or to be beaten by someone else so I don't have to go through the pain, ohh the pain)

I know I sound like an absolute wally, and it does not show much respect for my opponent or the general respect I have or had from other players but so be it, it is what it is. I think I need help. Anyone know a good doctor?

Like I said EPOX, it is me who should be sorry, I should not let it get to me, but it does.

All I can do is to see which tournament you are entering (if there is a choice of two tournaments) and enter in the other one. Please do not enter a tournament if you would rather enter in another but join the one I am in last minute just to spite me.

I will wait for the last signups e.g. 15/16 and enter if you are not in it. If it is a masters or grand slam my only options will be to hope a) you don't play b) hope you are in another side of the draw and either I get beat or you get beat to avoid us playing c) if by some misfortune we meet I will have to get a can beer in my hand or a big fat spliff :angry

Please for one minute do not think I am trying to push you out of ITST, you have just as much right to be here as me or anyone else, but I need to avoid you at all costs.

P.s. I thought I had lost it but reading your post I am not sure you are all there either
