I'll give the edge to the big servers in the draw, particularly DJ, Maximo, Coke and marlonbrando, they'll dictate the points....though players like alex13090 , brgerflipr, and Likos86321 will get many many balls back...should be some exciting stuff!!

Haha I don't have time to practise my baseline game, nevermind my volleying thanks to these goddamn revisions.

I'll see if I play like a volleyer or like a bashmakov, probably a mix :P

Anyway I'm curious to see how everyone does with different players. But I think this one is for Likos or Djarvik

Calvkln (Gray) beats Fedfan (Lorenz) 6-4 6-1

The match was actually a lot of fun and I think the score is a bit harsh on me.

We both held till 4-4, I was tring to be reasonably aggressive and get up the court but it became increasingly difficult as his returns improved as the match went on, particularly up the line on both sides and from the back of the court I could not put enough pressure on him, particularly with his strong speed.

He went on a run of 4 games to 2-0 in the second. The key game was at 3-1 when we had a number of deuces, his stamina was flashing red but I lost a tight game to go down a double break.

I didn't reutrn his serve well all match but in the next game I tried to play up the middle and force him to try and risk but he fought back from 0-40 and I was finished.

The key stat was he won 82% of points behind the first serve and me a paltry 55%. Winners to UE were 38/4 for him and 29/8 for me.

Well played Calvklnm great to have you back.

Calvkln as Gray VS Fedfan as Lorenz

6-4 6-1

Great effort from you though, especially in the 1st set the rallies were long and painful. You were serving extremely well and your net game was top notch, just a slight dip in focus from you during the tail end of the 1st set and into the 2nd.

fun match...strange but fun

reading stats,it seems i used thompson and he used house.he made more winners and UE.his longline are great but he made a lot of mistakes too.
we played long rallies trying to hit eachother weak side(my fh and his bh).in 1st set i tried to mix baseline game and net game...
in 2nd set he become much more aggressive and, most of all,he made less UE.he dominated set but on 5-3 and serve he didn't finish the set.he needed tie to do it.
in 3set i broke him suddenly twice.everygame gone to advantages but i won important points.

Got beat vs Petrelli.

Was a good match, with rather mixed sets :D

First set: No breaks of serve, was pretty comfortable upto 4-3 to him on serve. Pressure was applied and he broke for the set at 5-4.

2nd Set. 5 consecutive breaks at the start of the followed by a hold for me to make it 4-2. We then both held, to make it 5-4. I then got broken while serving for it. I then held pretty easily twice and pressured his serve. It eventuially went to a tiebreak and it was topsy turvy with many mini breaks. I eventually managed to consolidate my serve witha minibrkea at 6-5 to win teh set.

3rd Set. Some lack service games from me allowed him to break twice for a 4-0 lead. i held 2 twice and in his last two service games had at least two break points in each but never managed to convert :S He eventually held it out at 5-2 for with a backhand winner crosscourt.

Final Score: Petrelli83 bt. Vieira151 6-4 6-7 6-2

First win FINALLY.
6-4 7-6 over tom. I also had a time limit to play to so if I lost 2nd set I would've had to resign or beg if we could play last set another time. FINALLY.

Also at end I was just risking on his serve lol which was fine because I could hold mine then out of no where broke me at 5-5 to 0-40. I was shiting myself at 30-0 or 30-15.

Yeah, I've totally lost the feel of the game after not playing for a week, so played a non-risk game, which if you're timing is off is still difficult given the low power of bishop. So many long rallies, with him playing aggressively, and me pushing like Murray and thus losing :P
I was hoping for him to make the errors, but he just didn't. I indeed broke out of nowhere to 6-5 in the 2nd set, but was struggling on my service games throughout the match, and couldn't hold on this time. Was only broken twice though.
He was just doing everything slightly better than me, especially the returns.

Well, see you all back in october for the ITST-tournaments!
