thats the point.

mean overeem have a good take down defense -but not good enough to bring him not down .
so he never will be a real MMA champion .
at all i think his fights about another stand up fighter like mirco cro cop will be awesome to watch - so mirko crocop like to follow the strikeforce series  (not will happen soon )

i saw yesterday fight night 21 with kenny "flo"florian vs. gomi .

real great fights.
esspecially the fight ROY "big country NELSON vs. stefan struve (size 6.11  ) was great.

how "pregnant looking "nelson Knocked out the giant struve was awesome. maybe you can watch it - it was real awesome fight.

sadly our german fighter dennis siver loose about ROSS pearson (ultimate fighter winner 10 !)
was also a great fight- we need more germans in UFC !!

1st time I saw Roy Nelson fight I literally 'LOL'd because he is so ridiculous-looking...but honestly he's not a bad fighter. He has a ton of power and he knows what he's doing on the ground. He'll never be a great fighter but he could be a very good one..

You're right about German MMA fighters...there aren't really any from Germany at all  At least, none that are fighting at a high level.

it looked funny ,roy nelson looks real pregnant- and struve looks like semmy schild the giant dutchman .
very funny to see the size weight difference
but behind the fat from big country (great name for a heavyweight) ,there is alot of muscles and power . it was a great shot how he knocked struve out.

we have very good stand up fighters from germany ,in K1 like stefan "BLITZ" leko or chalid "die faust" ARRAB :

real awesome german fighters. K1 FIGHTERS
the mainproblem is that MMA in germany is not so much accepted - so mostly the kids start karate ,judo ,boxing but not MMA . so we have not much MMA talents here.
in last 2-3 years this changed a little .

BTW: dennis silver is born in germany and lives in germany in mannheim - only his parents come from russia (so far i know )
we have another german fighter by UFC - but i forgott allways the name

So, Matthias did you see UFC 112??

I didn't watch it...I don't know if you've watched it yet, so I won't tell you the results.

I will say that Anderson Silva beats Maia by a decision, and I guess he's recieving a lot of criticism for this fight??? Apparently Dana White even went up to Silva's trainer to tell him how disgusted he was with Anderson's performance. I guess it's the usual Anderson Silva bulls**t that he does in almost every fight...dancing around the ring, putting his hands down, clowning the other guy, NOT trying to finish the fight, laughing at the other guy... it makes me sick to watch such arrogance.

I think Silva is extremely talented, but I don't know if I respect this guy anymore.

He's a good 'sport fighter', he knows how to score points and how to avoid getting hit, and yes he is definitely capable of knocking guys out, BUT he constantly does this crap!! He's perfectly happy to let a fight go to decision, something I find disgusting.

I think there should be a heavy point deduction by the judges for behavior like Silva's. If you're literally not doing anything for 2 rounds like A. Silva regularly does, you should probably lose that fight if it goes to decision. GOD I am so sick of Silva's crap, I HATE cocky bastards. The TRULY 'great ones' are always humble and fair sportsmen.

yep i saw the fight and UFC 112 at all
- indeed the silva fight was ridicolous.
silva started this clowning in round one.
mean he dominated maja 2-3 rounds, also with clowning -
but than the fight behavior from silva got worst

in round four he runs only arround maja like a clown ,without hitting one punch . the complete round
dan mirgliatta warned him in round 5 for that .
he makes no intension to end the fight .
no ,he make no intension to fight at all- only clowning .
no joke-that was ridicolous.
i can´t understand anderson silva .that was a shame

i agree with you,i also hate this fight behavior to go over a decision ,when you can knock out the guy -

everybody was shocked- i never saw so an ridicolous MMA fight .
dana white was so embrassed that he gave silva´s manager the belt after round 4 -coz he did´nt will give himself the championbelt to silva - he spoked to the manager and leaved the arena directly ,without watching round 5 !!

but also there was a few great fights in ufc 112
frankie "the answer "edgar got a sensation . hes the new lightweightchampion about BJ PENN .
he win with unanimous decision . edgar was so fast .
BJ was without chance
this was a big sensation in my opinion.

also the kendall grove(ultimate fighter 3 winner) versus marc munoz fight was great.
grove dominated munoz in R1 totally .
in second round munoz started a great come back and knocked out GROVE with ground and pound .
awesome fight

i saw the press conference after the UFC 112 event.

silva meant that maja disrespect him -thats why he did what he did.
ridicolous ,only coz maja meant : silva is called spider -spiders have 8 legs -maybe i can grab one and take it at home !

that was a joke - but silve interpredet this as disrespectfull .
ridicolous .

dana was shocked at all .
it was planed to let anderson silva fight about PSG :now he meant that the PSG fight about silva is died in his opinion .he is totally dissapointed from silva

Yeah, I read that Silva thought Maia "disrespected" him. Totally stupid, he expects people to bow down and worship him or something!!

I'm very dissapointed in him (Silva). This has been going on with him for a while (his disrespectful behavior). He really, really pissed me off with how he treated Forrest Griffin at UFC 103...he dropped his hands and shook his head at Griffin, danced around the ring, even offered to help Griffin off the ground :x That kind of behavior not only shows a lack of respect for your opponent but also a lack of respect for the fans and for yourself. His fight with Thales Leites at UFC 97 was maybe the most boring MMA fight I've ever seen. Leites actually would lay down on the ground, Silva would refuse to join him on the ground, and the referee would stand them up after 10 seconds or so. This was repeated about 10x in the fight. He's just a dickhead...if he were truly great he'd just let his fighting do the talking (like FEDOR). I'm no longer a fan of Anderson Silva.

when you read my earlier posts you see i was a huge fan from anderson silva and his stand up fightstil -
anderson silva is really one of the most talented fighters ever .
but now i can´t be anymore a fan from him

he started clowning with UFC 90 about cote followed from UFC 97 about leites and UFC 103 about griffin and now the worst boring fight in UFC history about maja .
with this behavior he loosed all my credits and all credits from UFC fans.
i hope UFC suspended him or will give him less financiell lucrative fights

what i hear dana white will give him no PPV fights anymore in future - this will be difficult for dana coz SILVA is the champion in middleweight division .
its interrest to see what hapens in future in case silva
i´m in line with dana .also i hope now that anderson silva will loose his title very soon.
at best ,when he is clowning again and his opponent knock out him during clowning .this will be very funy
maybe than he will learn something .

OK, so...UFC 113, SHOGUN VS. MACHIDA, the rematch for the Light Heavyweight Belt is coming up on May 8th!! I really hope Shogun can knock Machida out this time, it's about time somebody knocked him out. If this were under Pride FC rules, Machida would be in big trouble. Shogun would just stomp the crap out of him.

Did you go to see them???

Who were the guys??

I hope you asked one of them to punch you in the arm or something 8) If I met a UFC fighter I'd ask them to punch me in the arm or leg, or make me tap out with an armbar

do you guys that follow this sport know anything about this fighter-Din Thomas?

the reason I ask is because I see that former two-time world light-middleweight (154 lbs) boxing champion- Ricardo Mayorga is scheduled to fight this guy in an MMA bout next month.

obviously I don't know much regarding MMA and Thomas but I do know of Mayorga. He was very cocky and unpredictable and very awkward type of a boxer but with a heavy punch. It will be interesting to see how he does in an MMA rules bout.

Sparks flew at yesterday's press conference to announce "Worlds Collide: Mayorga vs. Thomas" the May 15th MMA fight card that will serve as Ricardo Mayorga's introduction to the sport. The former boxing world champion and his opponent, Din Thomas, began taunting each other from the moment the two entered Victor's Café in New York City. Thomas, wearing a T-shirt that read, "I'm Din Thomas: Google Me," boasted that he considered putting Mayorga's name on the shirt's back because "that is where Mayorga will be on May 15…on his back." Not to be outdone, Mayorga scolded Thomas and warned, "You haven't been hit by your father the way I am going to hit you."

Here's a video of that press conference:

Nah I've never heard of Din Thomas....seems like a lot of people are jumping into MMA though, it's getting pretty interesting. James Toney is supposedly scheduled for a UFC fight, and Herschel Walker (former NFL player) recently made his debut at like...49 years old or something, really crazy. He won, too, which is even crazier.

I just finished watching the Strikeforce event...and HOLY CRAP as I'm typing this, a HUGE FIGHT just erupted in the ring between Jason "Mayhem" Miller and Jake Shield's corner crew!! WOW!!! If any of you guys watch this on replay or on the internet you will probably not see that, because they cut to commercial after like 15-20 seconds.

Basically what happened was Jake Shields was announced the decision winner (BOOO, btw) over Dan Henderson, and Miller came up from behind him and said "So hey where's my rematch buddy!!??". Seemed/sounded like he was totally joking around with Shields, but then the camera feed went black for 1 second, and next thing you know the entire octagon has erupted with fighting...like 20 people in the octagon!!@

Strikeforce kind of put on an embarassing show tonight...all of the fights went to decision victories, Frank Shamrock (former UFC fighter and current Strikeforce commentator) was unbelievably biased in some of his commentary, very unprofessional...and to cap it off with that BS at the end...pretty embarassing.
