It's Friday - the first week is almost in the bag - so, from what you have seen so far, who is going to win the Australian Open?

From what I have seen so far, my picks:

Isner or Roddick.

Of course that won't happen - cause Nadal and/or Federer win everything - so in the end, I'm going with:

Nadal or Federer.

Ha ha...yeah, that's a great line.

Honestly, though, that's why I like watching Monfils play. He's a showman, no doubt about it. :)

As far as who will win the Australian Open, I'd be a fool to bet against Fed or Nadal. I'd love to see Roddick take it, but as you alluded to, Cro, I'm not getting my hopes up. On the women's side, I'd obviously have to say Serena, especially now that Clijsters is gone, but I'd love to see Henin or some other dark horse prove me wrong.

I'm not so easily offended. Monfils doesn't bother me. He hurts himself more than he helps himself with his crowd 'antics', anyways. He constantly takes himself out of the match and loses all focus, just to get the crowd to do 'The Wave'. He also chooses extremely wrong times to pump himself up, like winning the first point of his service game. 15-0!!! Chest pump time!!

He's quickly becoming a parody of himself, though. It IS a little tiresome watching a guy who hasn't proven that he has 'heart', constantly pounding on his heart to show what a big one he's got.

yeah he starts the chest pumping when hes 5-3 30-0 up. lets see it when he is 3-6 2-6 4-5 down, and gets himself a break point back, instead of folding over like hes got the fighting fortitude of a well cooked root vegetable.

That is hilarious and you are so right. Monfils is talented. He is a better "Donald Young." He could be better!

This is exactly what he needed, to be able to race through the early rounds without wasting energy, he is looking very strong.

Hewitt has just won 12 straight points, 5-0. Baghdatis hasn't show up yet.

6-0 4-2 Baghdatis retires. A shame, this match promised a lot potentially but I doubt the Aussies are to fussed. Hewitt looking as fit as he has in a long while, Federer next. Some great 4th round ties to look forward too. :D
